At #27 is Girls Aloud with 'The Show', the lead single off of their second studio album, 'What Will The Neighbours Say?' at hit #02, unfortunately denied of a #01 at the time by Usher's 'Burn'. The lead single was originally due to be 'Wake Me Up' at one point however they opted for this Xenomania pop banger as the lead with a fun colourful video to suit the song. An absolute fave when it comes to Girls Aloud personally, full of personality and the production on it is stellar, still sounds fresh to this day. That chart run does not do it justice at all!

The Show feels so overlooked by the general public but it's pop brilliance and I'm glad the fans love it still, should be even higher!

At #26 is Girls Aloud with the lead single from their first Greatest Hits album 'The Sound Of Girls Aloud', 'Something Kinda Oooh'! It peaked at #03 in the UK and went on to become one of their staple hits and most memorable songs from their discography. The video is the worst of their career but there is no denying this pop BANGER. When they were at their absolute best, I remember being so annoyed it didn't get to be #01 at the time but iirc they released at a v competitive time of year, but at least it had a decent chart run, at least compared to their others :').

At #25 is Girls Aloud again (!!) with 'No Good Advice', their second single and the follow up to their huge #1 winning hit single 'Sound Of The Underground', an unapologetic in your face pop anthem. It didn't quite hit the top spot or have as much longevity as SOTU but it still appears to be well remembered by fans. I remember being shocked it wasn't bigger at the time, especially as they had a lot of hype behind them. I'm glad it is still well remembered and people like it, I've gone from being indifferent to it over the years to it being one of my favourites by them. Surprised to see it so high here, but I'm not complaining!
Although I must admit I think No Good Advice is a little too high, still brilliant but not one I return to very much!

At #24 is The Saturdays with 'Ego', the second single to be released off of their second studio album 'Wordshaker'. It was written by Ina Wroldsen (who knew?) and produced by Steve Mac and is one of the absolute fan faves by fans of The Sats and also has a really fun video for them too. It is also their third best selling single after 'Up' and 'What About Us', selling 340,000 copies in the UK. I really like the song and I do think it is one of The Saturdays' best but maybe a little too high considering what it has beaten :')

At #23 is En Vogue with their highest entry in The Top 100, 'Don't Let Go (Love)' - a soundtrack single for the film 'Set It Off', which I have never heard of :'). It went on to be En Vogue's biggest international single and ranked at #83 as the biggest selling singles of the 90's in the US by Billboard. The song also recently reignited in popularity as it was performed on The X Factor in 2011 by winning group, Little Mix, whose performance of it was one of the biggest X Factor moments in history imo. I'm surprised to see it as high as it is, but I do really love it and it has stayed with me - still waiting on Little Mix's version however.
Some great Girls Aloud and Saturdays tracks there!

At #22 is The Saturdays with 'Higher', the second single to be taken off of their 'Headlines' EP and the follow up to 'Missing You'. It features Flo Rida and went on to be another Top 10 hit for the girls. The intro features one of the most iconic raps of our time - 'FRANKIE, MOLLIE, UNA, VANESSA, ROCHELLE, WHATCHA DOIN SATURDAY GIRL?!' 'I'm doing nothing' :') A huge uplifting pop song with really strong production and I think has stayed as being my favourite from the girls, it almost feels timeless. It was actually Top 10 for the most of adding the votes!

Just missing out on the Top 20 is Destiny's Child with their comeback single 'Lose My Breath' - the lead single from their last studio album 'Destiny Fullfilled' which gave them a huge Top 5 hit in the UK and the US, however it didn't quite make it to #01 unfortunately. Starting with the powerful intro 'HIT ME' and the drum production as well as Beyoncé taking charge with her vocals lead to one of their best songs ever and a standout in their discography.

Girls Aloud - Sound Of The Underground

Little Mix - Touch

Mis-Teeq - Scandalous

Sugababes - Freak Like Me

Sugababes - Hole In The Head

Sugababes - Push The Button

Sugababes - Round Round

Tatu - All The Things She Said

The Saturdays - Up

TLC - No Scrubs

Yassssss bye higher :cheer: :cheer:

Ew at no good advice being GA's 3rd highest song, they have so much better!

Adore all of Ego, Something Kinda Oooh and Power and wish the latter was higher 😍

Pure shores, move, about you now or push the button to win and viva forever/all the things she said to go asap plz!

LMAO. I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut tbh. Every single one of those are my absolute faves from those respective girl groups lmao!!! (Bar NGA)

'Higher' is legit one of the greatest pop songs of all time. One of the very best girl group songs ever, too! 'Lose My Breath' is the first DC song I absolutely adored. That intro is so powerful. I agree with Jade that Little Mix's version of 'Don't Let Go (Love)' is better, but the original still hits hard.

'Ego' is pop perfection. That chorus is pop melody heaven! The only criticism I have of the video is I really wish they weren't just standing at/on the car for the chorus. It really leant itself well to choreography! 'Something Kinda Ooooh!' Was always my fave GA song until 'Untouchable' turned up. What a song and 'The Show' is fantastic. It feels really under appreciated, which is a huge shame! I don't hate or dislike 'No Good Advice' I just think they have far better!

Edit: WHI'D HAVE THOUGHT SUGABABES WOULD HAVE MORE ENTRIES IN THE TOP 20 THAN GIRLS ALOUD!??!? WTH!

Freak needs to be gone asap. So does Round Round tbh. That one has aged really badly to me.

The intro to Higher is incredible :cheer:

Not a bad top twenty now that GA and Sats have been skimmed down . Higher should have been the Sats highest placed

song . En vogue should have made the top 20 , what an impressive chart run.

Lose my breath would have made number 1 if the record company didn’t underestimate demand. I worked in Woolworths at the time .

Sugababes have had a huge rise in affection for me these past 2 years so I'm happy to see them slaying here! Spice Girls rightfully dominating too.

Pure Shore to win (but it won't because of tactical -1s :() Call The Shots, Viva Forever, Touch then *.*

"The Show" was my all-time favourite song for a while. I still love it and I'm pleased to see it so well-regarded on here. Unfortunately it does feel almost forgotten by the general public :( "No Good Advice" on the other hand is a Girls Aloud song that I've never loved as much as their fans in general have. Sad to see three of their songs drop out in a row, I hope they get at least one of their remaining two in the top 10.

"Ego" and "Higher" are two gems in The Saturdays' very patchy discography - they definitely deserve their status here but to be beaten by "Up", one of their most basic bops, is embarrassing

"Lose My Breath" is another girl group song that despite being a fan fave, has never been my ultimate favourite by Destiny's Child. A shame that they haven't got anything in the top 20 but as a R&B group fronted by Beyoncé, I'm not surprised.

I am pleased that 'Something Kinda Ooooh' just about managed to scrape an 8+ average! It is my third favourite Girls Aloud single (after 'Sexy! No No No...' and 'Biology'), such a riot of a pop song that never fails to put me in a good mood. 'The Show' is pretty good as well, that was one of their biggest growers for me over the years.

I am also glad that 'Ego' hasn't advanced any further as it's probably The Saturdays' most overrated song for me. 'Up' is their absolute best on the other hand so yay!

That top 20 is looking pretty strong *.* my top 10 from that lot is:

01. Spice Girls - Viva Forever

02. All Saints - Pure Shores

03. Sugababes - Freak Like Me

04. Spice Girls - Spice Up Your Life

05. Girls Aloud - Call The Shots

06. Sugababes - Hole In The Head

07. Little Mix - Move

08. Sugababes - Round Round

09. Mis-Teeq - Scandalous

10. Little Mix - Touch

... so those to slay!

(Say You'll Be There, Up, Sound Of The Underground just outside)
