March 1, 20196 yr It’s definitely more ‘pure pop’ than her previous stuff but I really like it on first listen (though tbf I like everything she puts out, she could release a 10 minute track of just her burping and I’d be like BEST THING EVAR!!!111) But this just flows really well and is quite fun. Looking forward to the album! We’ve had 2 from the love side, I can’t wait for the fear side. Edited March 1, 20196 yr by Parallel Reality
March 1, 20196 yr ‘Buzzcut Season’ intro / Marina verses / Clean Bandit chorus but I’m so here for it.
March 1, 20196 yr Nothing has grabbed me as the usual 10/10 yet but I do like the mini Clean Bandit influences on Superstar - suprised Jack isn’t credited as writer or producer but interesting that it is actually produced by someone who did Lonely Hearts Club! I’m ready for a full-on bop or a stripped down ballad - we’ve had the mid-tempos now. In other news, Marina has appeared on Channel 4’s Ways to Change the World and you can see the interview below: jvgE93y8frY A really great interview and interesting to get a greater view into why she wanted to quit after Froot. It’s interesting also how she talks about her lack of massive global success as a good thing as she’s spoken previously about struggling with that around the Electra Heart era.
March 1, 20196 yr I'm excited to see the album debut and peak at #11 before dropping out the top 100.

March 1, 20196 yr She’s had a higher peaking album in the US than Zara, Pixie, The Saturdays and Nicole Scherzinger. But unlike those, she’s not doing it for the success and she was already a millionaire by the end of the first era in any event and will be playing a sold out date at the Royal Albert Hall.

Why you dragging those artists?
March 1, 20196 yr The anti-Marina trolls on here always make flops jokes about Marina. It's all they have, bless.
March 1, 20196 yr I quite like it! Mind you, it sounded really great on loud headphones when I gave it the first listen.
March 1, 20196 yr What a fabulous interview and she's so down to Earth never mentioning her status or anything like that. I still can't believe that btw lmao
March 2, 20196 yr I don’t mind Superstar, I thought from the title that it was going to be a return to Electra era so I’m pleased it isn’t. That said, it’s a step towards a kinda faceless 2018 dancepop album that I didn’t want from her. It’s better than most other dancepop tracks because of Marinas vox but not amazing by her past standards.
March 2, 20196 yr Just as Handmade Heaven is starting to grow, she releases another one that doesn't instantly click with me!
March 2, 20196 yr I'm really worried about the direction of this album. The uninspired artwork, 'Baby' included, 'Superstar' is so faceless beyond her voice. It's not clicking with me at all.
March 2, 20196 yr Phew I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking it. Superstar is nice and all but definitely not Marina I was expecting. Listened to FROOT the other day to reassure myself that she is still amazing and this is just a bump on the road.
