November 13, 20186 yr That’s ridiculous. Even Benidorm got better ratings than this years X Factor and they axed that! I believe the creator decided to end it in the end, I know he's working on something else now.
November 13, 20186 yr I believe the creator decided to end it in the end, I know he's working on something else now. Yeah from what Daran Litten said, it seemed to be his decision to not write anymore
November 13, 20186 yr Apparently the justification is that the 16-34 demo is "growing"...which isn't entirely true. It just hasn't abandoned the show as fast as the rest of the audience but it has still dropped.
November 13, 20186 yr I mean it has had it's lowest viewings, but it's a safe ~4 million for now, which probably is more than a punt on some random new format would get. I suppose it depends, I know they were looking at The Four but I doubt that would do that well, it's a really dull format. A renewal until 2022 is ridiculous though as it could and will dive more  They could always trial other things when it's not XF season, and if they take off, they could replace it on a Saturday night. If it's that bad though, nobody is forced to watch. I never get why people are like "they HAVE to take this off air!11!", there's hundred of channels, Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, and plenty of other stuff to watch :P
November 14, 20186 yr it just WON'T die  Good lord. Let it rest already! At least it'll be comical! Imagine it against a vintage Strictly year!
November 17, 20186 yr Apparently the song choices according to DS Acacia & Aaliyah - Act Our Age (Original) Anthony Russell - Beyond The Sea Bella Penfold - Strong (London Grammar) Brendan Murray - Say Something Dalton Harris - Listen Danny Tetley - My Way Scarlett Lee - Can't Take My Eyes Off You Shan Ako - Summertime Edited November 17, 20186 yr by troylovesmusic
November 17, 20186 yr Yep all those confirmed on the X Factor Twitter! Until SImon changes them last minute like always x Ffs at Dalton's, he was so much better singing Creep and Life On Mars rather than oversinging diva songs. I'm glad there's a few more modern songs from him, Bella and Brendan though, plus an original from A&A. Not sure how the latter will go and Brendan will probs crucify that song but I can't see why they haven't done that more often on big band, it's fine as a theme if it's just songs using the whole orchestra they provide, but it's terrible when they're made to sing old ratpack songs that are nowhere near the music they'd release as artists in the real world. Scarlett's got a bit of a boring song choice mind, hope she's not a shock bottom 3 this week! I know Summertime, My Way and Listen are cliche song choices done to death, but all 3 are capable of wowing a bit more (not that Danny will be wowing anyone). CTMEOOY is a bit early series mumsy over who goes in week 2 song choice
November 17, 20186 yr 'Strong' is a great choice, looking forward to that one the most. Danny doing 'My Way' *_* Lawd at 'Listen' and 'Say Something' being dragged up yet again.
November 17, 20186 yr Bella's got the best song Bloody Summertime - yawn. In fact most of those song choices are just dull and tired
November 17, 20186 yr Yeah, can't say I'm particularly looking forward to many of those performances but hopefully it'll be an alright show nonetheless.
November 17, 20186 yr United Vibe are carrying on, and have released a poor cover of Liam Payne's Familiar: WkGiq2JGVik  Edited November 17, 20186 yr by WhoOdyssey
November 17, 20186 yr Must be four in the final if the final is in 2 weeks time, with 2 going out Saturday night. I can see A&A and Danny leaving this weekend.
November 17, 20186 yr Scarlett was great, I was a bit apprehensive about that song but that's what Big Band week should be about, it's showing something different from her without losing her too much, feeling wrong or being boring.
November 17, 20186 yr I fail to see how Say Something has anything to do with Big Band ? lol  Tbh I'd rather they all just did modern songs with the orchestra, it's ridiculous to make them sing songs from like the 50s that don't suit them as artists  They should just have it as a week with the whole orchestra or something and not label it as a theme that makes you think of Frank Sinatra. Although that was a painful vocal from Brendan so maybe no thanks. God knows what the judges were hearing.
November 17, 20186 yr I fail to see how Say Something has anything to do with Big Band ? lol   So they are completely avoiding the Xmas no.1 then? Cowell is only doing it NOW when the show is a flop and he is running scared.
November 17, 20186 yr Say Something wasn't really Big Band but I don't think that can be a criticism on such a terrible theme  Brendan was excellent, possibly his best performance yet  expecting him to go regardless this week but I'm hoping he sneaks through!
November 17, 20186 yr  So they are completely avoiding the Xmas no.1 then? Cowell is only doing it NOW when the show is a flop and he is running scared. The final was a few weeks before Christmas last year as well.
