Posted April 5, 20187 yr Let's (belatedly) get these results underway then! 46 songs in total to get through - any predictions? Mull away...
April 5, 20187 yr Author XtR-WKpDRIQ 41. Summer Sixteen [5.04] Votes: 20 High: 9 (Tombo) Low: 2 (gavindeejay, Liam, Theo) 42. Portland (feat. Quavo & Travis Scott) [4.95] Votes: 17 High: 8 (Cremey, Davidson) Low: 1 (Theo) 43. Glow (feat. Kanye West) [4.71] Votes: 14 High: 8 (Dexton) Low: 2 (Jack, Joe, Theo) 44. Free Smoke [4.63] Votes: 15 High: 7.5 (Dexton) Low: 0 (Tombo) 45. Two Birds, One Stone [4.59] Votes: 10 High: 8 (Riser) Low: 2 (Jack, Joe) 46. Diplomatic Immunity [4.22] Votes: 18 High: 8 (Mack) Low: 0 (gavindeejay, Jack, Joe) Finishing bottom of the pile is most recent single 'Diplomatic Immunity'. In fact, 4 of his 6 last singles all appear down here, cementing the belief on here his material has gone downhill somewhat of late. Summer Sixteen was the biggest hit of this batch but was practically forgotten about once the behemoth that is 'One Dance' surfaced a few months later.
April 5, 20187 yr Author 9edOiYDuZTM 36. Charged Up [5.36] Votes: 12 High: 8.3 (DalekTurret32) Low: 0 (Theo) 37. Fake Love [5.23] Votes: 21 High: 10 (Dexton) Low:-1 (Jade) 38. Pound Cake (feat. Jay Z) [5.21] Votes: 15 High: 8.5 (Dexton) Low: 1 (Theo) 39. Fancy (feat. T.I. & Swizz Beatz) [5.11] Votes: 16 High: 8 (Bré) Low: 1 (gavindeejay) 40. I'm Goin' In (feat. Lil Wayne & Young Jeezy) [5.04, received a 10] Votes: 15 High: 10 (Tombo) Low: 1 (Theo) Fake Love is certainly the highest profile casualty of this next section which also sees one of his very early singles 'I'm Goin' In' eliminated.
April 5, 20187 yr I guess 'Diplomatic Immunity' might just suffer from being recent enough that people actually know it and maybe some of the other lesser known songs would have been lower if people knew them enough to rate them and did so lowly? :P It's definitely not his worst song so boo at that xx The rest of these so far are mostly ones I haven't heard but that is disappointingly low for 'Fancy', a catchy bop. 10x better than the Iggy Azalea song of the same name. x I expect the winner will end up being one of the Rihanna collabs or 'Hold On, We're Going Home' although I hope not as all of those got a little tired from overplay.
April 7, 20187 yr Author WNW1xRqbt94 31. Signs [5.59] Votes: 19 High: 8.5 (DalekTurret32) Low: 0 (gavindeejay) 32. Sneakin' (feat. 21 Savage) [5.55] Votes: 17 High: 9 (Bré, Tombo) Low: 0 (Cqmerqn, Jack) 33. The Language [5.53, received a 9] Votes: 12 High: 9 (Cremey) Low: 0 (Theo) 34. Right Hand [5.53] Votes: 12 High: 8 (Cremey, Dobbo, Tombo) Low: 2 (Riser) 35. Worst Behaviour [5.43] Votes: 13 High: 8 (Dobbo) Low: -1 (Theo) Signs is the next big casualty, another recent drop that without being too spectacular managed to chart top 40. A number of his lesser known tracks fall, I'm becoming increasingly fond of 'Right Hand' because the background music reminds me of a Crash Bandicoot level.
April 7, 20187 yr Author xpVfcZ0ZcFM 26. God's Plan [6.18] Votes: 21 High: 10 (Bré, danG, Dexton, Dobbo, Mack, Tombo) Low: -1 (Jack) 27. All Me (feat. Big Sean & 2 Chainz) [6.12] Votes: 13 High: 10 (Tombo) Low: 1 (Theo) 28. Successful (feat. Trey Songz & Lil Wayne) [5.88] Votes: 15 High: 7.2 (DalekTurret32) Low: 4 (Jack, Tawdry Hepburn) 29. Pop Style (feat. The Throne) [5.86] Votes: 19 High: 10 (Cremey, Tombo) Low: 0 (Cqmerqn) 30. Miss Me (feat. Lil Wayne) [5.72] Votes: 14 High: 8.1 (DalekTurret32) Low: 3 (Jack, Theo) So the first BIG fallout is the song of the moment (well, until today where we have another new release) - 'God's Plan'. Obviously just off the back of a 9-week stint at UK #1 this was quite clearly the most divisive single in the rate with six 10's but also two 0's alongside a -1. A handful of collabs also fail to crack the top half including his second single from way back when, 'Successful' - proved to be a very apt title we can safely say!
April 7, 20187 yr I was really disappointed at 'Sneakin'' ending up not even being included on 'More Life', it was miles better than 'Fake Love' imo (but obvz it didn't take off so fair decision ~). 'God's Plan' deserves better here as it's really turned into one of my faves from Drizzy but actually I'm surprised it's even that high!
April 8, 20187 yr Author 0KCWqnldEag 21. 0 To 100 / The Catch Up [6.36] Votes: 17 High: 9 (Bré, Dobbo) Low: 0 (Theo) 22. Too Much (feat. Sampha) [6.34] Votes: 17 High: 9.2 (DalekTurret32) Low: 0 (Tombo) 23. HYFR (Hell Ya Fucking Right) (feat. Lil Wayne) [6.31] Votes: 17 High: 10 (Cremey) Low: 2 (Dexton) 24. No Frauds (with Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne) [6.29] Votes: 18 High: 9 (Jack) Low: 1 (Dexton) 25. Back To Back [6.20] Votes: 14 High: 9 (Riser) Low: 2 (Theo) Not too many of his other signature hits fall out before the top 20, mostly later singles on albums/EPs appearing in this section. A shame 0 To 100 just missed the top 20 as I find that one of his most underrated - but at least the song in 20th is a bit of a tune as well.
April 8, 20187 yr That's not a bad showing for '0 To 100 / The Catch Up' at all really! Another one that it was a shame never properly took off.
April 8, 20187 yr Author 7LnBvuzjpr4 17. Preach (feat. PARTYNEXTDOOR) [7.18] Votes: 18 High: 11 (HausofTroye) Low: 3 (Theo) 18. Energy [6.81] Votes: 15 High: 9.5 (Riser) Low: 2 (Theo) 19. Controlla [6.79] Votes: 21 High: 10 (Cremey, Davidson) Low: -1 (gavindeejay) 20. Jumpman (with Future) [6.43] Votes: 17 High: 10 (Cremey) Low: 2 (Jack) Just edging into the top 20 is his high profile collab with Future from their project 'What a Time to Be Alive'. Controlla was one of his 3 super long-running hits of 2016 but falls first out of those. Energy is another one of his underrated tracks, full of exactly that & with a great hook. At #17 is a song I actually realllly disliked at the time, enough to call it my least favourite single of his but it's turned into a big grower - it's also the first track to drop out that received an 11.
April 8, 20187 yr Nice to see IYRTITL tracks doing decently, probably my favourite Drake project to date. Edit: In saying that I now see I forgot to even rate Preach :P Probably wouldn't have made much difference. Edited April 8, 20187 yr by Dircadirca
April 8, 20187 yr Author KbjaLGsOHaE 14. Make Me Proud (feat. Nicki Minaj) [7.29] Votes: 21 High: 10 (Jack) Low: 1 (gavindeejay) 15. Best I Ever Had [7.22] Votes: 20 High: 10 (Dobbo) Low: 2 (gavindeejay) 16. Too Good (feat. Rihanna) [7.20] Votes: 21 High: 10 (Dexton, Mack, Theo, Tombo) Low: -1 (Joe) 'Too Good', very much seen as an inferior 'Take Care' (proving very divisive in the rate with also two 0's awarded) & one of many RiRi collabs crashes out at 16 just behind his very first single 'Best I Ever Had'. I still clearly remember hearing this at work on 1Xtra & asking a colleague who it was - little did I know it would be the start of a quite spectacular career! Still remains one of his best songs imo. 'Make Me Proud', an early Minaj feature finishes surprisingly high - always preferred this to the reverse feature 'Moment 4 Life'.
April 8, 20187 yr 'One Dance' actually beating 'Too Good'! ;o well done voters x (not that I dislike 'Too Good' but indeed it's a weaker version of 'Take Care' which itself is a tad overrated).
April 8, 20187 yr I knew my 11 would be the first 11 to drop out. People are SLEEPING ON PREACH although saying that it's a lot higher than I thought it would be. It was good at the time but it's matured into something really quite exceptional the more time you give it. Controlla is fun and probably a few places too low. Not too many other comments as tracks are falling around where I'd want them to.
April 9, 20187 yr Pleased to declare myself Buzzjack's biggest fan of 'Two Birds, One Stone', 'Back To Back' and 'Energy' *.*
April 9, 20187 yr Pop Style is one of his best and I'm surprised it is so low down! God's Plan must have really split people as it got a lot of tens but still didn't get a good position here
