Hi Steven, the charts will still be updated on the site as normal at 5.45pm.

Hi Steven. The final hour of the show will feature chart-related content, with more details coming soon.

So that sounds to me like exact same format, with Newsbeat at 5.45pm

Maybe a "retro" chart or something for last hour or something dumb. If we're very lucky a breakers chart or something.

I think that's a better format than playing the whole top 40. The chart just isn't fast-moving enough to warrant every song in the top 40 to get played.

Hopefully they play a selection of songs between 41-100 during the final hour and a few chart breakers.

I think playing highlights from 41-100 in the final hour would be a bit odd, it would make more sense to play them in the first hour to keep it in the right order! I can't see them touching 41-100 really. Wouldn't surprise me if the final hour was for retro throwbacks or something but time will tell I guess.

it could actually be a cool show, first 2 hours play the charts as they do now, no need for a top 40 in full when some son gs are there for 52 weeks,

then for the final hour play the newies of th week just released and future singles, songs bubbling under, could be a way to help more newies break into the chart

instead of helping shape of you gets its 53rd week in the t40

Great changes there and I'm happy with the line up but I am absolutely gutted Dance Anthems on a Friday will be gone, it's one of my favourite shows which I prefer over the Saturday one!

Yeah me too. Will reserve judgement till we know what we're getting for that last hour but I think I would've preferred them to keep it as it is

or perhaps half an hour of chart breakers and half an hour of retro hits/#1s?

Scott Mills is one of the only things good about Radio 1 anymore. I wish this was still on a Sunday, I might listen then.
I enjoy it when I listen too tbf but we don't know what they have planned for 7pm onwards (or do we?)

They changed the Friday night schedule only back in November 2017 shortening the shows back to 2 hours and giving Danny Howard a slot. It is very unlikely they're going to mess with the night time again so soon

Was me ask offical chart company Facebook. So look like chart show 4.00 to 5.45 week Chart

2 news beats 16.30 normal 3 min 15 min newsbeat 17,45

Then something Chart related At 6pm what that be

One of the only Radio 1 DJs who genuinely loves pop & chart music, and by far the most entertaining presenter. This is such a good choice

Good discussion one here, what do you think would have been the outcome for the Chart Show if Scott Took over in 2002, how long would he have been there and who do you think would have taken over from Scott.

I think he would have lasted five years. Fearne and Reggie would have still started in 2007 by replacing him.
Hopefully 6 week radio 1 summer in mix use be on end July to September not come back this year

But it is popular.

I don't know. Chaos theory and all that. Anything could've happened. There might have been completely different people in charge of those sorts of decisions, Fearne and Reggie's careers might have gone a different route. It's impossible to say.

I think it's likely though that if Scott had got the chart show in 2002 he'd have moved on from Radio 1 altogether by now. He certainly shouldn't regret anything. He's had a great career and to still be at Radio 1 at his age is remarkable.

topics merged, any Scott Mills discussion can be in this topic.

I'd say Scott would probably not be doing the chart show now if he had it permanently in 2002 anyway.
