The highest All Stars 3 queen by a smidge is the comeback queen Shangela. The only queen to have competed three times, it was incredible to see someone who once went home in the very first episode of her season become a serious frontrunner in a season that showcased the best of the best. Shangela has such an X Factor about her, even on season 2 when she’d been doing drag for 5 months she had such a charisma and charm about her that her peers could only dream of. For me that’s something you can’t teach or learn, and is the fundamental of being a great drag queen. Shangela proved her comedy chops in Season 3 by winning Space Queens and RuHaHa, amongst a rivalry with the Heathers. On All Stars 3 she grabbed wins in the Divas Live, Snatch Game and My Best Squirrelfriend’s Dragsmaids Wedding Trip, winning all three of those lipsyncs as well. Ultimately, Shangela is one of those rare queens who just owns it and turns it out even when she does badly and you always want her to succeed. It was awful to see her robbed at the last hurdle in All Stars 3 but she's your All Stars 3 winner here!

Just pipped to the post as best season is Season 5, won by Jinkx Monsoon. This had it all really, a good amount of drama (Coco vs. Alyssa, Jade Jolie being an utter c***, Rolaskatox, Roxxxy's contempt for Jinkx, to name just a few), a great cast, a good mix of challenges, and it never felt too predictable (Jinkx didn't just storm it all) as it felt like Roxxxy or Alaska could have snatched it at various points. There were some filler queens but that's par for the course, the double elimination helped us get rid of those that bit sooner :P

 

 

 

That means the best season is of course...

 

 

 

1st All Stars 2 10.11

Winner: Alaska

Runners-up: Katya and Detox

Miss Congeniality: N/A

My personal fave: Katya

 

 

The second All Stars perfected the formula and then some! After the disastrous first All Stars, this fought back with a stellar cast (even if we had a few too many from AS5) and a format that didn't ruin it all. The Lip Sync For Your Legacy was much better than the pairs shite, allowing the best of the best to lipsync against each other for a cash prize as well as the power to boot one of their competitors who landed in the bottom 3... This added some drama without it being too artificial, and of course having well-loved talented queens like Alaska, Katya, Detox, Tatianna and Alyssa competing in one season was going to provide moment after moment! Every episode felt like essential viewing, and while a couple of contestants were robbed, it was a solid finishing order with the right top 3.

Surprised Shangela didn't make the top 3.

 

But the top 3 is incredibly strong great to see Jinkx there :)

Opening up our top 3 is Season 5’s kooky winner Jinkx. Just as Sharon opened it up for being different, Jinkx showed that you can be campy and comedic and win, when arguably most winners prior to her had been mostly based on aesthetic. Becuase of her different approach, Jinkx was a punching bag all season for many contestants, particularly Roxxxy. She had a bit of a slow start, being critiqued for her fashion, not winning until episode 5 with possibly one of the definitive Snatch Game performances as Little Edie, but Jinkx always made us howl with her quirkiness and unique charm, taking the psis out of her narcolepsy for example, and stood up for herself when needed. Her winning was a moment for comedy queens, which brings us to our top 2...

 

 

Katya vs. Bianca! Can the Russian hooker snatch the win again, or will the queen of mean steal it this time?

 

Shangela was such a fave of mine on seasons 3 and All Stars. Her personality is so charming and as you said, even when she had clearly failed at a challenge, you couldn't help but root for her. I never expected her to gag me so many times with her runway looks in All Stars.

 

No surprise to see All Stars 2 win the season rate! I would say season 6 is my favourite but it was the first one that I watched so had more of an impact than some I watched more recently. Definitely a huge step up from All Stars 1 - hopefully they take more notes from that season when casting for the next one.

 

I didn't expect Jinkx to be so high! :o She is so loveable, especially with the bullying towards her from Roxxxy, she always rose above it and showed what a classy queen she is!

 

I love both this top two but as Katya got my 12, I'm rooting for her to snatch it again.

Jinkx will always be my favourite, the first queen I ever actively rooted for rather than just thought “yeah she should win”. :wub:

 

She did have a fairly slow start but it goes to show when, 5 seasons on, she still holds the record for most consecutive top finishes (7 highs and 2 wins)! :dance:

So it's Katya vs. Bianca for the top 2, with Bianca displacing Alyssa from last year. Just missing out on taking the crown this time is the queen of mean with a heart of gold, Season 6's winner Bianca Del Rio! From the very first episode she stood out as a fan favourite with her hilarious acerbic put-downs that rolled off her acid tongue effortlessly. Being that cutting but so loved is hard, but Bianca strikes the balance by having the biggest heart beneath it all once you melt the few layers of ice that encase it :kink: She's my favourite for that reason, so layered and complex instead of just being a c*** like other "honest" queens. In particular her friendship with Adore is one of my faves, as it showed Bianca at her acerbic best as well as elucidating her softer side - she really cared about Adore and would help her and that brought out the best in her. Being arguably the most witty queen, Bianca has seen great success with her comedy tours and remains one of the best performing queens on the show, never achieving a low or bottom 2 placing on any challenge. A worthy best winner *.*

So there we have it, Buzzjack's fan fave yet again is Katerina Petrovna Zamolochikova (but your dad just calls her Katya) *.* Katya is a queen unlike any other, able to take the piss out of herself with no tpic out of bounds. It's so refreshing that instead of being a sob story her mental health and past addictions are used in a more empowering way to become her strengths - her self depreciative humour is second to none! If there's any queen to challenge Bianca, it's Katya, such a weirdo but you wouldn't have her any other way would you? She slayed challenges such as Snatch Game (her All Stars 2 Bjork is a contender for my fave EVER :rofl:), Divine Inspiration and Spoof There It Is across two seasons, winning Prancing Queens and RuHollywood Stories in Season 7 and lipsyncing for her legacy three times in All Stars 2 after Snatch Game, A Family That Drags Together and Drag Fish Tank, although she didn't win any. There's no wonder that Katya is such a breakout star from the show, hosting The Katya and Trixie Show with her bff Trixie, although she is currently on a mental health break from drag for 2018.

I love Bianca but OMG YAY KATYA!! She is my personal fav and so happy to see Buzzjack agrees especially given that I didn't vote in this! :wub: :wub: :wub:

Happy to see Bianca so high up too, she was the complete opposite of what I expected her to be (in a good way) and is such a sweetheart.
