The gulf in music quality between 2013 and 2018.
Sad but true, barely anything can come close to 2013 hits, probably my favourite year for music :(

'I Like It' is okay, but I'd prefer a version without Cardi - tbf J Balvin and Bad Bunny's parts are the only parts I can get into oops

Is this even being pushed as a single yet?

Kinda, it's getting airplay from Capital at least!

This Cardi B song reminds me of a rap version of Havana for some reason!

Biography

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (born 16 February 1990), known by his stage name, The Weeknd (pronounced "the weekend"), is an Ethiopian-Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer. Tesfaye anonymously uploaded several songs to YouTube under the name "The Weeknd" in 2010 and released the critically acclaimed mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence in 2011. The mixtapes were later remastered and rereleased on the compilation album Trilogy (2012), after he signed with Republic Records and created his own record label XO.

Tesfaye has had two number-one albums Beauty Behind the Madness in 2015 and Starboy in 2016. Tesfaye has also had a top-two release Kiss Land in 2013 on the US Billboard 200. His first extended play My Dear Melancholy, was released in 2018. He has earned eight top-ten entries on the Billboard Hot 100: "Love Me Harder" with Ariana Grande, "Earned It", "I Feel It Coming", "Pray for Me" with Kendrick Lamar, Call Out My Name, and the number one singles "The Hills", "Can't Feel My Face", and "Starboy". In 2015, Tesfaye became the first artist to simultaneously hold the top three positions on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart with "Can't Feel My Face", "Earned It", and "The Hills". Tesfaye has won three Grammy Awards and nine Juno Awards. - Wikipedia

Biography

A pop singer/songwriter who broke records with his debut single, Shawn Mendes was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After posting a series of his cover versions to various video-sharing sites, Mendes earned a dedicated following of viewers. His mix of Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber's styles also appealed to Island Records, who signed Mendes in 2014. That same year they released the then-15-year-old's debut single, "Life of the Party." American radio initially ignored it, but the track entered the Billboard 100 singles chart at number 24, making Mendes the youngest artist to land a debut single in the Top 25. The song was also included on Mendes' four-track Island debut, The Shawn Mendes EP. The EP performed well, reaching number five on the Billboard charts on its way toward sales of over 100,000, setting the stage for his full-length debut, 2015's Handwritten.

Preceded by the single "Something Big," Handwritten appeared to strong sales, debuting at number one in both Canada and the U.S. The single "Stitches," which was released that April, became one of Mendes' biggest hits, reaching the Top Ten in the U.S. and Canada and topping the charts in the U.K. and Germany. In addition, his single "Believe" landed on the soundtrack for the Disney Channel fantasy musical Descendants. While opening for Taylor Swift on the North American dates of her 1989 World Tour, Mendes and Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello collaborated on the song "I Know What You Did Last Summer," which appeared on the deluxe version of Handwritten that was released in November 2015; the song reached the Top 20 on the U.S. and Canadian Hot 100 charts.

The Top Ten single "Treat You Better" preceded Mendes' second album, Illuminate, which was recorded in upstate New York and arrived in September 2016. Illuminate, which featured co-songwriting contributions from Teddy Geiger and Scott Harris, debuted at number one in the U.S. and Canada, where it also achieved platinum status. It was quickly followed in December by the digital-only Live at Madison Square Garden. Mendes launched a massive world tour in the spring of 2017 and notched another Top Ten single in "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back." Around this time, he also delivered the live acoustic session MTV Unplugged. - iTunes

This Cardi B song reminds me of a rap version of Havana for some reason!

Glad it's not only me that thought that

Not sure why R1 are still playlisting 'Be Careful' over 'I Like It' - great to see it cracking the top 20, has to be a future top 5 minimum.

Yay for Shawn rebounding slightly ~

God's Plan actually falling at a decent pace :o

Well I expect Drake to be at top 3 this week, so he'll still be here...

Hooray for 'In My Blood' rising this week. It is a shame that this hasn't become a top 10 hit yet, that chorus is fabulous!
'In My Blood' has the potential to be amazing, but there's just something lacking that I can't quite put my finger on. It doesn't have the same punch as 'Treat You Better' and 'Stitches' had.
Still love In My Blood. It needs to be top 10.

Yeh a lot of artists are going down the Latin/Spanish route as it's proving popular!

Hope radio supports it before it falls again!!
