what possessed Spotify to put 'Would You Ever' down as a #2 hit? and all the other songs there were actual #2s too.

The ‘This is America’ song may have a good message but it really isn’t a good song at all!
They're going to have to remove a lot more artists if that's the standard they're going by... I won't be crying for them losing promotion but they're really just opening themselves up to (justified) allegations of double standards, as indeed XXXTENTACION has already done. They could have just done this without announcing it.

This is America is number 6 on NMF of this week.. Preper to see another huge jump tomorrow.

Has anyone knows why the new Diplo ft. MO is not available only in the UK Spotify?

NMF

#1 Rita et al. - Girls

#2 Arctic Monkeys - Four out of five

#3 Years & Years - If you're over me

#4 Skepta - Pure water

#6 Childish gambino - This is America

#8 Bastille - Quarter past midnight

#9 Selena - Back to you

Not much going on today, This is America still #4

Just realised Drake is pretty close to One kiss (606K vs 583K)

German #17

Jess Glynne #22

nice to see all those great songs that peaked at #2 re-entering thanks to Throwback Thursday

87 Wheatus - Teenage dirtbag

92 Taylor - Shake it off

98 Aha - Take on me

99 Eminem/Ri - Love the way you lie

110 Blur - Song 2

111 Eminem - My name is

112 Outkast - Ms Jackson

114 Elton - Rocket man

116 Natalie Imbruglia - Torn

123 Verve - Bittersweet symphony

138 KOL - Use somebody

157 Maroon 5 - Moves like Jagger

159 Adele - Rolling in the deep

163 Kelis - Milkshake

173 Deeelite - Groove is in the heart

I don't think XXXTENTACION will be hit that badly if indeed Spotify won't be playlisting him anymore. He clearly has a big fanbase that will stream him anyway despite the things he has (allegedly) done.

As for R. Kelly when was he actually last relevant? Well over ten years ago, the Bump & Grind remix doesn't count.

I imagine X will still get high streams when he releases his next album but I doubt he'd be able to get a sustained hit as big as 'SAD!' without being in Spotify's hip-hop playlists. Which would be no great loss unless his music gets significantly better.

Ignition (Remix) has been in the Australian top 200 pretty much every day for the last 3 years, I'm curious if this will cause it to drop out forever, though it's still there tonight.

They've also apparently removed Tay-K not that he had anything relevant at the moment. It does look a bit bad though when I can look at RapCaviar and see Famous Dex, NBA Youngboy, and three different Rich The Kid tracks. As I've seen pointed out before, you're more likely to find someone who's had accusations of violence against women, than women. They also announced this not long after Chris Brown got yet another accusation, and shock alert, they updated Today's Top Hits to add Selena's new song but Freaky Friday is still on there.

they don't seem to have a problem with chris brown :/

R. Kelly isn’t relevant anyway but he released some great (popular) songs in his hay day. Ignition is still a party staple and I Believe I Can Fly is as memorable as crap songs come

Where in his lyrics does he promote hate??

Where does this all stop, it’s pathetic!

I suppose Ignition (Remix) won't be going back in the top 200 so often but I imagine a lot of people have it on their own playlists so it'll still get healthy streams.

As it has been said, there are so many artists with a problematic past so I don't particularly agree with the blacklisting of certain artists yet others are allowed to stay (for now at least, I expect more will be quietly dropped soon too)

Robbie Williams took drugs- Let’s ban him

Justin Bieber hit someone- let’s ban him

I'd like to know how murdering multiple people is comparable to 'taking drugs'...

(I'm referencing banned rapper Tay-K icymi)
