June 13, 20187 yr Well that last sentence is a bit rubbish, coz from my understanding (and from what I saw) Kelly seemed to be the life and soul of the last season. However, it was just her first season. Wasn't it about S3 that M5 and Xtina released 'Moves Like Jagger'? Which is what really propelled M5 and Adam back into the top end of the charts?
June 13, 20187 yr Why does the success of one artist over another always have to do with gender on here
June 13, 20187 yr Younger Days by Miley TANKED hard despite The Voice, although it’s more to do with the material!
June 13, 20187 yr agree with T B, I think they're popular cos Adam's been on the Voice for ages and that keeps him in people's minds + he's releasing trendy easy songs, not cos he's a man, Alicia or Kelly or Gwen haven't benefitted from the Voice cos their latest material is less good and less chart-frienly + they're not the stars of the voice, adam is I'm sorry, but material less "good" than this. (Plus it is subjective anyway...)
June 13, 20187 yr What I’m saying is is that ‘Today’s Top Hits’ is America’s equivalent to ‘Hot Hits UK’ which isn’t promoted in the UK. It still makes a difference - hence Juice WRLD got to #57 without Hot Hits
June 14, 20187 yr I quite liked 'What Lovers Do', but this is boring as anything. Wish they'd go back to their pre-2015 sound.
September 13, 20186 yr They always manage a big hit every now and then but maroon 5 struggle with album sales although considering the low peak of the greatest hits it has sold nearly 200,000 and we'll outsold a few of their studio albums.
September 13, 20186 yr I think this might be my worst song of the year for how utterly devoid of any personality or soul it is :/ It's so offensively bland and for me that's worse than just being outright bad.
September 13, 20186 yr tbh after reading who are all the possible candidates for #1 next week in the US, Girls like you is the least evil the other candidates are In my feelings, but he's dropped too much in all fronts to be still #1 then theres the Machine Gun Kelly diss track, and then theres the silly Kanye West track so I'd rather have M5 at #1, at least there's a song in there and it's not something idiotic aimed at kids age 7 like the other 3 candidates
September 13, 20186 yr Pretty impressive for Maroon 5, when was their last us no1? One More Night in 2012! Edited September 13, 20186 yr by WhoOdyssey
September 13, 20186 yr didn't realise they've done so well, they've made the top 10 with almost all singles since Moves like Jagger thanks to airplay mostly Moves like Jagger #1 Payphone #2 One more night #1 Daylight #7 Love somebody #10 Maps #6 Animals #3 Sugar #2 Don't wanna know #6 What lovers do #9 Girls like you #2 so far
September 13, 20186 yr It's such a nothingy song, just proof that people will lap up any basic rubbish.

Really happy for them that they’ve managed to continue their success this long, Red Pill Blues wasn’t a spectacular album but there was a few highlights and that’s how I’ve seen most of their albums really. M5 have become more pop sounding over the years to help stay relevant chartwise (which they probably wouldn’t need to do considering how big they are anyway) but that’s not a bad thing tbh. Once upon a time they were a popular pop rock band but what similar bands from the early 00s are still making waves these days?
