Well, yes he'd always have that tag on him (and it was a bit of an exaggeration tbf, it's not actually going to happen) but I meant it in the same light as when Toon were relegated under Alan Shearer.

Yeh I don't even remember when he got them relegated lol so maybe your right. Prob because Shearer went straight back to the motd studio!

Another great win for Liverpool tonight, good to see them as Xmas no1. They were even good tonight, some mistakes from Fabinho, Robertson and others. Don't like Lovern in there, always looks like he will make a mistake!

4 points clear though until tomorrow!

It was a professional performance against a good team who have taken points off all the other Top 6 bar Spurs. Says a lot when every chance they had was from our mistakes really, and i suspect a lot of those were down to the conditions.

Tell you what Van Dijk is absolutely fantastic. He's like a peak Rio Ferdinand and John Terry hybrid - absolute monster.

Wow what the hell is happening today? At this rate, Cardiff are gonna lose as well!

Some crazy results that go against all form or logic - even Arsenal could easily have dropped points today against Burnley!

Interesting to see how City react now, goal difference is only 5 and we haven't really seen them or their fans under pressure as they normally always take the lead early or walked to the title last season. Long way to go yet and undoubtedly we are going to drop points again. But I think if Fernandinho played today - they don't lose the game today.

It was a good performance from united though and they got a lot more people into the box. Martial, Pogba and Rashford look a lot happier too lol.

Great performance from Palace there, some goal by Townsend!!

Look at Pep Guardiola's body language and mannerisms during this post match press conference, you can tell that he's not used to losing and also there is a feeling that he probably turns up to stadiums without imagining the possibility of losing.

It's a shame that Sir Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola were not managing teams in the Premier League at the same time because it would have been very interesting to what effect Sir Alex's mind games would have had on Guardiola.

5-1 win is a great start for Ole Gunnar's time as caretaker manager, hopefully more results like this will follow even though it was Cardiff that were the opposition!

I’m really interested to see how they react now. They have the better squad but they have not been under any pressure since Guardiola took over. Obviously everyone will point to the game on January 3rd but highly doubtful the title will be won or lost during that game

The only two teams in the past 10 years to be top at Christmas and NOT win the League were both Liverpool in 2008 and 2013.

Third time lucky?

No Liverpool are never destined to win the league in my lifetime as I support them :(
Remarkable that Spurs are now only 2 points behind City. They'll still bottle the big matches but it's another problem for the top 2 to have to worry about at least.
It would be hilarious if Liverpool continue their streak of being top of the table at Christmas but failing to win the league! Tottenham only 2 points behind Manchester City, it's definitely not a two-horse race for the title and I kind of hope they will be able to do it out of the top 3 but it's not going to happen.

Yeah you have to have Spurs in the mix, they smashed Everton. It looks like that Derby defeat really hit them hard.

That said I think they have the weakest squad of the 3 and their injuries are really mounting up now. Can't see them doing it, but stranger things have happened.
