Rashford is definitely a no-brainer for me, especially against Panama. Start him ahead of Sterling or Lingard. I think Loftus-Cheek should get a start too but we certainly don't need to go full on Hodgson & make about 9 changes for game #2.

Rashford would start every match for me as well as Cahill as one of the back three instead of Walker!

That’s the problem, the 3 often becomes a 5 and it hurts our play because Henderson is asked to be a deep midfielder so at times we had 6 and 4. I thought Trippier was quite good, but he could have done so much more. Young was terrible though. Lingard is not a midfielder and Sterling is so much better out wide and then coming centrally, he’s not clever enough to play the role he’s currently being asked at this stage imo.

I like Rashford but he usually is better as a sub. I think Maguire is the weak link in the back 3.

The commentators are brutal to listen to, so so so biased!

lol this is so true. Martin Keown in particular! It was funny when Guy Mowbray compared Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Germany not winning their first match to England's victory over Tunisia as if all of the teams are competing in a league together and not in separate groups like they actually are

2-1 win for England just like I predicted, England played well but there were definitely signs of a typical England display during a lot of the 2nd half. I guess England will beat Panama quite comfortably which should be enough to see them into the last 16.

Does Gary Lineker really think that that was an "exceptional performance"?. What at Martin Keown saying that England in the opening 20 minutes was the best so far it went a bit downhill once he said that.

Because it was really good, but then we got sloppy and lost a lot of energy. The second half we were visibly more tired, the issue is when you use that amount of energy you have to score, which we did. But then to give away a needless penalty was shocking really.

I thought the VAR system they use is actually quite good, certainly better than how I have seen it used in the FA Cup, but shocked at those non penalty calls, especially when similar calls have already been given in this World Cup.

I didn't watch the match (it was midnight in Hong Kong).

A reasonable performance from England and quite frankly, they finally had some formation to play after being so shit in the last 10 years or so.

Looking at the highlight, I would agree that Sterling was pretty crap during the game. If Harry Kane is all they have, then it would be easy for Panama and Belgium to monitor him on the field and England wouldn't have much of an offense after all.
