This song was so instant for me and I wouldn't be surprised if this was also the case with many others, easy semi winner perhaps? This just reminds me of the best of Matrix & Futurebound, not sounding a million miles away from 'Control' sonically. I am a sucker for that kind of production mixed with emotional vocals. What a stormer of a package! We hope this one can go all the way tonight. Receiving 15 points was an almighty grower courtesy of our fellow #longsongbloc allies Rolloland. We initially gave 'The Storm Before The Calm' 4 points in the semi-final but it has wormed its way into the affections of the Jadakissnian citizens more and more each time and now it's an ultimate favourite. The first half is such an exciting adrenaline rush and then it all calms down and boasts a fantastic final couple of minutes - the song peaking at the end is ultra satisfying. The duration is no problem for me as I love the build. Well done Rolloland for appearing in our medal positions for the second time to date, after the 18 for 'Routine' last year! Then finally, Utopia knock it out of the park during the first available opportunity for us to vote for them!
