Where there's smoke, there's fire... and director Joseph Kahn just poured some gasoline on the rumor that "Getaway Car" is Taylor Swift's next release off Reputation!

 

Fans are under the impression his latest Tweet alludes to the fact he is probably directing the music video for it (it's worth mentioning he's exclusively directed all of her most-recent visuals).

I also hope it's true. Would prefer "Getaway Car" over the other rumoured "I Did Something Bad" as next single.

 

Since "Delicate" is reaching a new peak every week on Billboard's Hot 100 I'm surprised a new single is announced now, because I thought they'd wait until "Delicate" is losing steam.

I'm not 100% sure if this is true (Joseph loves to troll and I'm sure he's tweeted a couple of cryptic tweets about IDSB and a tweet about don't Blame me) but I'd be here for this. This/DBM/CIWYW are the only singles left (IDSB remix would be killer but it would undo everything delicate has done & the public don't want that side of Taylor atm)

 

I don't think they'll push anything for a couple of months tho as Delicate is really starting to take off in America!

I think they'll choose a song that could keep the momentum of Delicate in the States and in my opinion the only choices are Getaway Car and Dress. I Did Something Bad would be more of a turn-off for people who didn't like Taylor's attitude when Reputation came out but embraced her again because of Delicate.

Dress would totally kill momentum, it's not terrible but there's not much to it. It's just a bit like a racier/sexier I Don't Wanna Live Forever with a bit less to it :lol: Getaway Car isn't my fave from the album, that would probably be Don't Blame Me of what's left but Getaway Car would be fine as a single as a different side to the album. Not sure it would be a hit though, Don't Blame Me would probably have more of a chance.

DBM definitely has the most potential to be a hit, it was the most instant song for me on the album and is probably in my Top 3

Supposedly fake :( Tho Taylor recently released an exclusive lithograph with the pic being from the getaway Car tour visuals so it is def looking more and more likely that GC is the next single *.*

 

Taylor also supposedly confirmed the music video for the next single is shot. I think we'll get the announcement + video by the end of this month. Hoping it's getaway Car, don't Blame me or a lead of a deluxe version, I refuse to accept anything else

I just listened to Getaway Car for probably the first time in months and it’s way better than I remember *.* I really hope it’s the next single although the pacing of this following Delicate seems a bit odd, since both are fairly slower songs compared to the bigger stuff on the album.

 

A bit reminiscent of Happier coming after Perfect for Ed Sheeran tbh though, with obviously Happier not making waves anywhere at all despite Perfect being a massive hit. Delicate -> Getaway Car feels like the same sort of situation which is a bit of a shame especially considering how turbulent this era has been for Taylor so far yet Delicate managed to be big in the US :/

Should be Don't Blame Me, Getaway Car is ofc better than Delicate (what isn't) but still wouldn't necessarily be my choice :/

it’s probably the special guest lol but now is as good of a time as ever to sent out another single. it’ll probably go the way of Out Of The woods but it would be a neat way to close out the era if she wanted to do a “my catharsis is over and I’ve calmed down, here’s a prelude to the next chapter of my story” narrative.

 

and then she recuperates from the tour and releases some soundtrack single with someone random like bazzi to help give her momentum for TS7
