Still midweek #40 today! Hmm, I guess we should brace ourselves for it dropping 4 or 5 places for tomorrow's official chart, but Top 50 would still be a fantastic outcome. Definitely appears to be on course for 2,000+ sales.

Yeah, I'm prepared for it to fall out the Top 40 so won't be disappointed if it does, but like you say it's great that it's getting better sales now and puts it in a solid position for when TV promo starts.

Golden is the 19th best selling vinyl of 2018:

1 TRANQUILITY BASE HOTEL & CASINO ARCTIC MONKEYS

2 RUMOURS FLEETWOOD MAC

3 THE GREATEST SHOWMAN MOTION PICTURE CAST RECORDING

4 THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON PINK FLOYD

5 STAYING AT TAMARA'S GEORGE EZRA

6 WHAT'S THE STORY MORNING GLORY OASIS

7 NEVERMIND NIRVANA

8 LEGACY DAVID BOWIE

9 GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY - AWESOME MIX 2 ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK

10 GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY - AWESOME MIX 1 ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK

11 THE WAR OF THE WORLDS JEFF WAYNE

12 BACK TO BLACK AMY WINEHOUSE

13 THE STONE ROSES STONE ROSES

14 DIVIDE ED SHEERAN

15 GREATEST HITS QUEEN

16 LEGEND BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS

17 AM ARCTIC MONKEYS

18 AS YOU WERE LIAM GALLAGHER

19 GOLDEN KYLIE MINOGUE

20 DEFINITELY MAYBE OASIS

A nice outcome for the vinyl! That makes Golden the highest selling solo female vinyl of the year (of those that were actually released in 2018, obviously it's second behind Amy Winehouse overall). It would have been nice if OCC had shared a figure for it.

(Side note: The tenacity of 'Rumours' in vinyl format is very impressive!)

It seems that the sales between the albums in the Top 20 must be quite close together. Golden sold 6,398 copies on vinyl in its first week alone. Information provided by the OCC article:

1 TRANQUILITY BASE HOTEL & CASINO ARCTIC MONKEYS (33,400)

2 RUMOURS FLEETWOOD MAC (18,400)

3 THE GREATEST SHOWMAN MOTION PICTURE CAST RECORDING (16,600)

4 THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON PINK FLOYD (15,700)

5 STAYING AT TAMARA'S GEORGE EZRA (14,500)

It's hard to predict what Golden's vinyl sales are in total. Unfortunately outside of week 1 it didn't last long inside the UK Top 40 vinyl chart (although that wasn't helped by its third week on sale coinciding with Record Store Day):

1-6-out-31-out

So perhaps not too far off 10k in total?

Good to see it Top 20 but considering we have 4 versions (Standard, Deluxe, Picture Disc & Clear Disc) I would have expected it higher as collectors would have bought all 4 versions.

I agree with your comments and that it's probably on ~10k at this point.

Good to see it Top 20 but considering we have 4 versions (Standard, Deluxe, Picture Disc & Clear Disc) I would have expected it higher as collectors would have bought all 4 versions.

It seems that the interest in the vinyl formats was concentrated in pre-orders and first week sales, and not really long-term unfortunately.

In the Tuesday midweeks it had sold 35 vinyl copies up to that point this week, and I would imagine that's somewhat higher than in weeks gone by (because of the concerts and thus higher interest in the album). If Golden continued to sell at that rate all week then it would be on course for 61 vinyl sales. So in weeks gone by when Golden was a lot lower down the chart, perhaps vinyl sales would have been like 10 or so per week at best, maybe even less.

I'm wondering if the Super Deluxe Edition will be reduced in price with time? At the time of writing it's £47.96 on Amazon, and #64,113 in their sales chart (which rather suggests it's not selling anything :kink: ). The price point is way too high to attract any casual interest. Would be interesting to know how many copies in that format have remained unsold.

If the album is getting a new version i think all current versions need to be reduced to clear out what is on the shelves and attract sales before the new version arrives.
Kylie still #40 in today’s update :o Should be safe for Top 45 tomorrow then (Much higher than I was expecting!).
Really happy with that and with some bit of luck it could manage to stay top 40. I'm hoping it might be back in the irish charts this week to.

A little spoiler in advance of today's chart... Golden is at #46. ^_^

Like I say, a shame it did fall out but I was prepared for it. Still a solid result and hopefully cleared 2k again.

Has now spent half a year in the chart!

This week's sales = the same as the title of a certain Anne-Marie song! :magic:

Total: 114,102

Number 46 is good.

It didn't drop largely in the final part of the week and the sales are good.

Very decent!

Now it’s bound to fall until the cassettes issue coming out with promo for MTSWY.

It may possibly manage another week in the Top 75 this week ahead, or, at the least Top 100.
Great result and about 15 places higher than I originally expected for this week - am pretty confident it will spend another week T75 :cheer:

Same and same! It's gradually racking up a really decent total.
