This is my 11th world cup final I've seen in my lifetime yes I'm old, has to be my favourite.

Mine 7th, don't remember 1994 as I was only 7 months when that took place.

I think the first World Cup I properly remember is 2006, I have extremely vague memories of 2002 though because my parents had an enormous England flag outside the house :lol: congrats to France anyway, they definitely deserved it after the latter two goals. I think 2nd is my best result in a BuzzJack sweepstake also! :cheer:

That final was the dirtest World Cup final I've seen.

Wasn't it just a really boring one with one goal in extra time? Lots of passing.

I remember the 2006 World Cup but only really the England matches and the Final. The 2010 World Cup will always be 'the' World Cup for me though since it was the first one I was really into, I followed all the groups and collected nearly all the Panini stickers. All my assumptions of who the best teams were came from that tournament for years after.

Well done to France winning their second World Cup tournament, and the sixth team to join the ranks that have won twice, or more. Its only England & Spain that has won once.

My first Panini sticker album was Spain 1982, missed out on USA 1994, but I have all the others to date, I've only completed 3 of them though 2010, 2014 and 2018.

 

Great game, France have been solid yet unspectacular for long patches throughout but they played a percentage game and it came off. Just goes to show you how much luck plays in football, I thought Croatia were fantastic 1st half but like England in the semi finals, they didn’t take their chances and were punished.

That's the way to win tournaments. Italy once won it after drawing all three group games IIRC.

Croatia very unlucky in the first half but in the end France were deserved winners. A very good final to end what has been an enjoyable tournament to watch. Good to see the stadiums were full for every match,I hope that will be the case for the next World Cup in Qatar.
