so Gigi finally gets his much deserved top40 debut, although its baffling that massive hits like La Passion or The Riddle werent UK hits in the early 00s. I think even Ireland jumped on board.

If it could be big enough to allow more tracks like this in the chart, I'd really appreciate it.

Well it looks like this form of dark and atmospheric dance music is becoming bigger in the UK chart with the success of this and 'Panic Room'. Hopefully it will really start to become an even bigger trend at the end of this year and next year.

I am hoping 'In My Mind' will do even better than Panic Room.

I spy that Dan has charted another song of Dynoro’s that was released before this called ‘Hangover’ which is a re-working of the Taio Cruz & Flo Rida track. Once again a banger.

Also, why is this not getting daytime radio spins yet? Kiss is the only one playing it, but that's at night :(

I heard it on Radio 1 once but only as a 'let's see if you like this' kinda play. The people clearly like it though so hopefully it gets playlisted soon?

'Hangover' is great too, odd choice of song to sample (not even that big of a hit for Taio) but it works somehow.

This isn't really that great though, not enough going on with the vocal melody parts for my liking. Encouraging signs that an underground dance song has dented the top 40 at least.

Also is he really called DYE-noro? Looks more like DEE-noro to me.

Gigi has had so many stronger releases than this that deserve the success this is achieving.

Pretty much this. But back then they had to have a push by a label, these days with free market anything can chart really.

It's weird because Bla Bla Bla apparently charted in the UK at No.87 in November 2002: http://www.officialcharts.com/artist/9566/gigi-dagostino/

I have no recollection of it being pushed here at that time or seeing the CD single in the shops!

Yet I do remember a soft push happening in summer 2000. The track was a No.1 in my personal chart at that time. I first heard it on this compilation: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fresh-Hits-Vol-2-V...s/dp/B00004YKYD

But perhaps the CD single was cancelled at some late stage. It happened a lot back then.

Finally Top 10 this week *.*

What is the version Radio 1 play? Feels like there's more prominence on that L'amour Toujours sample!

So this is out today... of course Flo Rida had to re-do 'In My Mind' to make it sound like the Dynoro version.

It won't actually do anything, he tried with 'In My Mind Part 2' off the back of the Axwell version getting really popular and that was never pushed.

Just vaguely amusing that he's done a Part 3 which bares more than a passing resemblance to the Dynoro version.
