Olly has more or less said on Twitter tonight that Radio 1 have snubbed him (someone asked him if he was doing Christmas Live Lounge again like he has on the last few albums). I knew they had already when they ignored 'Moves', and I knew one day that this would happen, and there's little point getting angry about it, but I am hurt. I just hope it's not the end :(

It is strange I feel he would be still fairly popular amongst radio 1s age group!!

Not with weak rubbish like 'Moves'. I feel like that appeals to heart listeners a lot more.

 

He does, however, have a few tracks which would sound good for R1 on his album. It's honestly baffling as to why 'Moves' was chosen. It should have been like a Spotify exclusive B-Side or something :(

Moves has pretty much ruined his career, poor sod.

And just like that Olly moves into the Magic FM territory. Not a bad thing as he’ll be able to shift album units going forward but his days of big hit singles are over - you can feel from things he’s said that he’s disappointed with this era already.

Olly chatted and performed 'Wrapped Up' on Lorraine this morning. He's also pre-recorded a performance for 'Loose Women' to be shown at a later (and unconfirmed) date today.

I hope the promo can really boost the album as I'm starting to think platinum will be a struggle.

It looks as if 'Excuses' is going to be the next single now - new vertical video premiered on Olly's VEVO this afternoon. Not sure why the change from that to 'Love Me Again' happened given the latter was touted by him for a long while. Still one of my favourites on the album. I won't bother doing a seperate topic for it given that apparently he's not a singles artist anymore:

 

 

I wish it wasn't quite so miserable to be a fan of his at the moment :(

 

I think 'Excuses' is a good choice of single tbh. Heart, Radio 2 will be all over it. I'm kinda annoyed that he wasted his XF slot away on 'Moves' coz I feel like this could've done decent for him tbh. It's perfect for this time of year and would've been a strong album seller for more casual buyers.

 

Hope he's performed it on his show and that it gets a nice boost from it. Even a similar sort of hit to 'You Are the Reason' by Callum Scott would be welcome at this point.

There is, it's 'Excuses'. Promo starts next week with an exclusive performance on 'The One Show', he filmed the video in London yesterday as well.

I assume he will perform at some stage when The Voice starts in the new year!

 

He will be on a fair few things in the next two weeks then too!

Good to see the album climbing this week and hopefully promo gives his sales a lift.

Olly's set at tonight's Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball (including a cover of 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' which isn't up yet). Got me excited for the tour again next May (BTW, two new dates have been added to that, in Brighton and Hull. The first London O2 date has been changed to accomodate. I'll post it below):
