I'm pretty sure I remember her being at #2 all week, I followed the midweeks back then.

I had thought I Begin To Wonder was number 1 in the first midweeks of that week.

 

Voted for 'Who Do You Love Now', I totally loved it at the time and it was such a welcome surprise at the time as many thought that Dannii's career was over (including me) and to see her comeback with such an amazing new revitalized sound and therefore created some hype and excitement for what's to come next, and that was the incredible 'Neon Nights' album and it's run of amazing singles, that put her in the big leagues for a brief time. Shame we never got a proper follow up to the 'NN' campaign.

Neon Nights era was a time i was positive Dannii could keep the momentum going and at the least have another successful album.

That said, i did think the release of her Greatest Hits at that time was the right move and i remain surprised how badly it performed.

I did think dannii would have maintained her success for longer and she would manage another successful studio album which never happened. I still think she missed an opportunity at the heigth of her x factor fame not to have released an album and got a performance on the show especially back then when an x factor performance had an impact.

^^ I always thought the XF was a missed opportunity, could have easily given her a Top 10 hit but I guess she wasn’t in the best position to capitalize on the success with no record deal and probably didn’t have anything good to go. A re-issue and push for the Greatest Hits album would have been ideal too.

I thought she had that chance with 'Touch Me Like That', but R1 never playlisted it (despite her premiering the song on there), she didn't get a performance and that was pretty much the last we heard from her.

Ya touch me like that was a surprise by how bad it did, it's not a bad song at all and I was sure it would at least go top 20 for her.

Touch Me Like That easily deserved to have at the very least made the Top 40.

I too, was surprised it missed out considering her popularity at that time.

In my opinion all these tracks are much better than perfection , so under pressure and touch me like that. AATW records killed her momentum by only being interested in releasing singles where it was Dannii Vs Track.

 

'I'm Sorry' is an utter gem, I've gone back to that regularly for so many years. :wub:

I'm sorry and love fight are both brill I'm a big fan of both.

I wish Hits & Beyond had been a complete singles collection, with just one or two new tracks. For me, there was far too many new tracks taking the place of where I wanted her other singles to be ! Save the other new tracks for the next album.

I liked Love Fight much more than the other new ones.

Lovefight was so much better than the other songs added.Still wish it had been made a single.

This! Such a fantastic song that still sounds amazing now - I loved everything about that era for Dannii and the ‘Girl’ album IMO is her best.

Girl was an album I only got into years after its release and it's great but I'm not a huge all I wanna do fan.
