Posted August 8, 20186 yr Welcome to the Fljótavíkian jungles of Valtari Thirty one participants have been randomly selected to reside in the Valtari Jungle and will compete in the first semi final of BJSC107 Residents must vote for their ten favourite entries from the songs submitted by their cohabitants, to do so please use the ESC scoring system of 12, 10, 08, 07, 06, 05, 04, 03, 02, 01 and submit your national votes to your host, dandy*, by PM. The deadline for voting is 23:59 on Thursday 16 August. Please don't be late or your song will face a points deduction, 15% for late voters and 33% for non voters. You may only submit votes for the semi final location you are residing in. The nations of Fljótavík and Cowtermont will submit votes for both locations due to having the good fortune of auto qualifying for the final. Please do not vote for FLJ or COW in the semi final locations, however please do feel free to vote FLJ and COW in the final. Curious to see if anyone else already knows of it, Lew did when I sent it in as my 90s choice for the 90s vs. 00s spinoff, it's from a pretty highly critically acclaimed album although not a commercially successful one. Three songs I have already heard in this semi (that I recognise from the titles anyway) and I'm not really that big a fan of any of those iirc so hoping that's not a bad omen! I think I do remember Jeff playing 1788-L on plug and me liking it rather a lot though ;o Will try and knock together some YT playlists tonight!

I found that Deandria's entry is actually credited to 'Gabriela Robin' so I was going to say it turns out it's not a self-recycle after all... but then I looked that up and it turned out that's just an alias of Yoko Kanno :lol: Yeah I was confused at that myself after I saw the song under 'Gabriela Robin' on iTunes but I think Yoko uses that name when she sings on one of her compositions! Another smaller and more insignificant confusion is that sometimes it's tagged as 'Cyber Bird', two words, which for the more precise of us may be slightly annoying but I think I saw it as one word more often and to me that's nicer :P
