The production is definitely letting it down and stopping it being great for me too, it's written quite well (not really the lyrics, but the melody etc.) and is catchy, but I keep just thinking how good it would be if it was a bit more of a banger. It feels like they were trying to build it layer by layer but stopped at like 1 or 2 and thought the melody was enough. It kind of is because something keeps me coming back, for now, but I doubt it will be one that will stay with me or I'll go back to that much.

 

The last album did cut a lot of corners though, I think beforehand she was just releasing basic enough pop that worked (I mean, it's Cheryl Cole, nobody expected paradigm defining glossy pop). A lot of the album felt like it needed to be about 2 levels higher, whilst I did enjoy the singles and Waiting For Lightning a lot even the two #1s could really have done with beefing up. This is similar, it's some of the way there and could be a great pop song but it's just not quite there.

No doubt the video got pulled due to 99% of the comments asking what's she done to her face and lips etc, She did look a hot mess to be honest even the fans noticed but surely they would of known this before putting it out?

Looking at its performance on iTunes maybe a top 20 / 30 debut is on the cards, Will be interesting to see her streaming numbers and how it holds up on itunes after the first 24 hours / fan downloads.

She will have sold around 2,000 downloads right now to be at number two, it’s not very difficult it all depends how streaming goes and if she holds up on iTunes!

I am simply saying what all the comments said on that video and possible reason it got pulled, If you wish to sit there and try and make something out of it then by all means go for it I couldn't give a sh!t.

But don't come at me saying my comment was bad, I am clearly stating what everyone as been saying and giving a reason why the video could of been pulled.

It's decent! I do like the melody and I think the care-free tone is quite nice and you can see she's having fun in the video! Not gonna lie I still feel the swearing is a bit forced to make Cheryl seem edgier, it just doesn't fit with her character/music imo.

 

I'm interested to see how Cheryl does in the OA/OS/streaming era cause I think she still has the potential to be successful, just not as much as she used to have! I think she'll probably go low top 10 with an X Factor performance if not maybe top 20?

Love the sound and melody of the production, however, I just wish it popped out more. It feels very limited.

 

I can't decide if I like it or not in all honesty. I just think it feels very restricted. I guess this is where a bomb ass remix could come into play. I like the idea of a Cahill remix! Or even get Freemasons on it. This lowkey reminds me of the original Work and Green Light by Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé so I think their remix could really elevate it.

I'm not saying you're a terrible person whatsoever, so calm down. It's simply worrying that 98% of your input in this thread has been about how her face looks, rather than the music or anything else.

She's allowed to get older. If she didn't change her look, the record company, agents would be on her, and all the comments would be all about how old she looks. It's the pressure on them to always look great. You can see this from the negative comments.

It's quite hyprocitical to say you don't understand why she did that and how superficial it is when actually you spend your time & energy on commenting how she looks and how her face has changed. These people are precisely the reason why celebs go through surgery and such.

Oh my! :o I never thought I would be agreeing with a Michael post but THIS. Some of the comments on this forum about Cheryl's appearance have been absolutely disgusting - yes we are all shocked at her new image but there are other ways to phrase it without being insulting.

That is nonsense, the pictures of her from earlier in the year she looked great before she’s had this work done. The point I’ve been getting at is that she’s looked stunning in the past and this work wasn’t necessary. She looks ridiculous in the video.
