October 6, 20241 yr I don't think we have a thread for it... and I'm not going to start one just to say this... but just finished watching season 3 of The Bear and I really don't think I've ever been so disappointed by a show - the first two seasons were great but this one really wasn't it, I was so bored throughout and I don't feel like anything in particular actually happened
November 16, 20241 yr I'm not sure if a thread exists yet but can we can have pinned thread for TV Recommendations please. If one existed I was going to ask a very specific plot request, to see if anyone can recommend a show or even an episode from a show, that highlights a world where the internet suddenly doesn't work globally and everyone has to adapt to a way of living without it. Any ideas?

October 11, 2025Oct 11 MTV is closing!it’s been opened since 1981 but it’s closing its doors in December. The main channel will remain open as a non music channel but the rest will be gone into the dustbin of history 😕
October 11, 2025Oct 11 A shame but I get why it's happening. Maybe if they weren't still hidden behind a pay wall then perhaps they could've survived a bit longer? They never made the music channels available on Freeview or Freesat, not even NOW TV!

June 25Jun 25 Sky agrees terms for ITV broadcast business acquisitionhttps://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2026/06/25/sky-agrees-terms-for-itv-broadcast-business-acquisition/Sky has agreed terms to acquire ITV’s Media & Entertainment division in a deal valued at around £1.6 billion, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The transaction, first reported by Reuters, would see Comcast-owned Sky acquire ITV’s broadcast and streaming operations, including ITVX, while ITV Studios would become a standalone production business. As part of the agreement, ITV Studios would acquire Sky-owned Love Productions, the maker of The Great British Bake Off and The Piano. The production company is understood to be valued at between £80 million and £120 million, based on comparable transactions. The overall value of the deal also includes an earn-out worth around £200 million linked to the future performance of the Media & Entertainment business.Lawyers are understood to be finalising the agreement, with an announcement possible within the next two weeks, although one source cautioned that the timetable could still slip because of outstanding legal work. The proposed acquisition would bring to a close negotiations that began last year and became public in November when ITV confirmed it was in discussions with Sky over a potential sale of its Media & Entertainment division.Separating ITV’s broadcast and streaming operations from ITV Studios has been one of the most complex aspects of the transaction. Once completed, ITV Studios would continue as an independent production company, while Sky would add ITV’s linear channels and ITVX streaming platform to its UK operations.
