Posted September 30, 20186 yr Latest news on the new Bond movie to be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, which has no title yet, has been pushed back to 14 February 2020 with Daniel Craig, his last appearance as James Bond. Originally the new Bond movie was scheduled to appear towards the end of next year October/ November 2019, its not even in production, its quite an unusual release when most of the Bond movies are released towards the end of the year, mind you Daniel is currently working on a different film project. Early speculation is a remake of O.H.M.S.S. I should imagine Blofeld will be a re-cast, if that happens.
November 1, 20186 yr First Bond film to be released outside of Quarter 4 since Licence To Kill in 1989! Not sure on the remake of On Her Majesty's Secret Service rumour. I know the Daniel Craig films have been the rebooted version of Bond but that doesn't mean it should follow the originals that closely. Besides, I always saw Casino Royale as the modern day answer to O.H.M.S.S, with Bond falling in love, having it all snatched away and making him toughen up even more.
April 25, 20196 yr Casting announcements have been made today. Billy Magnussen, Ana De Armas, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch and Rami Malek all join the cast. Ralph Fiennes returns as M, Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Léa Seydoux as Dr Madeleine Swann, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter. @1121391113502433282
April 25, 20196 yr Phoebe Waller-Bridge co-write too - hyped! I'm so beyond hyped about this. She has a gift
July 1, 20196 yr Apparently Grace Jones had been brought back for a cameo appearance but she's quit over disputes over camera time (seems she didn't realise it was just a cameo?). Don't really get why she'd have been brought back anyway given she had such a memorable role the first time round. A seemingly more successful return comes in the shape of the Aston Martin V8 Volante, which appeared in The Living Daylights.
December 4, 20195 yr SpyEEpab7yc Seems like the rumours that James Bond has retired and the 007 title has been replaced by a woman are true. I'm happy to see this explored so long as character comes first and foremost. Yes at a gadget-laden Aston Martin being properly used! *.*
December 4, 20195 yr Author That trailer is quite fitting. I know where its going by replacing a male actor with a woman, its kind of rebooting the franchise, with a female in the lead. I don't know how I feel about that though, I always thought at the back of my mind the lead should be played by a male actor, but I could be swayed to the change.
December 4, 20195 yr I can see them doing a soft reboot - it's what all the other franchises are doing and to great success, plus the Daniel Craig era seems to fit in its own little package and it's hard to see another actor picking up where Daniel left. I'd rather they didn't continue with a female in lead role though, it's just not necessary to alter the franchise like this and for the sake of what?
December 5, 20195 yr OH SHIT I had a feeling the idea of Bond getting pulled out of retirement and working with the new 007 agent was gonna follow through, almost like a passing of the torch. It solidifies 007 as merely a codename despite pop culture having ingrained a persona into it. Of course the new 007 is no Bond, she doesn’t have to be Bond. She has her own reputation and legacy to build as the codename and I can see Bond realizing that in the end.
December 5, 20195 yr Agreed, it does reiterate that 007 is a codename and I think it'll be interesting to see this character test Bond's perceptions. I think it would be a huge mistake for the franchise to retire the James Bond brand though. Perhaps, if this film is well received, they could run a spin-off series to run alongside the James Bond series?
December 5, 20195 yr Whoever plays 007 this trailer looks class. Always a fan of a snow scene Bond film!
December 12, 20195 yr Reports are saying Disney are interested in buying the Bond franchise. I guess that reinforces my theory that we could start seeing more soft reboots in the future. Also, please would someone be able to edit the title of the thread?
December 13, 20195 yr Author Also, please would someone be able to edit the title of the thread? I've actually just done that without realising your post  since we have a title for it now. And the rumour of a female playing Bond in future Bond films is still up in the air. I think they only wrote the part for this movie just to put a twist to the plot.

Imagine if Bond decides to not go back to retirement after this but will act as a mentor to the new 007 :o
