Hello and welcome Dance music lovers from across the forum, it's that time again where we all come together and share those unknown gems from across the genre spectrum, this is Club Bizarre! Last time's winner, Mattias with the wonderful Naibu - Gloom, has declined to host a second time so has passed down to yours truly, so I'll plug my

:P Now onto this month's theme~

As with all other editions thus far, the fifth edition will have a theme and this time we are doing Dubstep and Trap, together making up a significant part of dance music so should be a fruitful theme for you to pick from. We're looking for those hard drops, glitchy production, distorted vocals, anything of the like. You may have a clear preference of the two (I know I do) but we still encourage you to explore both genres if you're not sure, as we would like an equal representation if possible rather than one genre dominating.

If you are struggling to find places to pick songs, here are some dedicated Youtube channels for Dubstep and Trap that could help you along.

Anyway onto the RULES:

- Your song must fit the genre of Dubstep or Trap in order to eligible or closely related sub genres such as Wobblestep, Glitchstep, Chillstep, Post-dubstep, Partridgestep etc. The Dance Mods (danG and lewistgreen) will be checking the entries list* to watch for any songs that do not fit this genre and it will be vetoed if it doesn't, if you are not sure if your song fits or not, please confirm anyway and we'll get back to you if there's a problem.

- We are looking for discoveries here, so please avoid your Skrillexs, Neros or any song that is well known on Buzzjack or getting high coverage in wider world/internet. Ideally no top 40 hits and the song/artist should not have been sent to a previous song contest on Buzzjack. Links for BJSC and Unknown Pleasures here as well as the Club Bizarre archive (though I can't imagine you'd need that given they are all from different genres)

- This is an anonymous contest so please do not reveal or drop hints to your entry until the final results show when they will be revealed. Punishable by death I'll have you know.

- This is first come, first served so any repeat artists and if you didn't get there first with an artist/song, you will have to reconfirm.

ANYONE can enter, there is no prerequisites for members so if you have a great song of the genre that doesn't go against the grain or if this is your first time seeing one of these, then please do enter and enjoy what will hopefully be a great contest for new music.

*the person who sent the songs will be kept hidden in the sheet so only myself will know who sent what

We are using a Google form again so CONFIRM YOUR ENTRY HERE, reminder that you will need a Google account for this.

That should cover everything, any questions feel free to ask but otherwise, get confirming! You have ONE WEEK to do this until Sunday 7th October 23:59, voting will be going up the day after.

This is a good choice of theme, the next biggest/broadest category genre-wise I'd say not done yet.

I did think Chez was going to do this theme (cheers for taking over ^_^ Didn't rly feel like hosting for a 2nd time haha) as he expressed interest in this theme during the conclusion of the last edition! Why so predictable, Chez? :nono: lmao jk. I'm not always entirely sure what counts as trap OR dubstep but I have a fair idea and there's fluidity in both genres anyway. If I find something I like enough that seems to fit the theme, then I'll enter.

 

Can Dobbo pls win again in this edition so we can have a strings theme like he said? :kink: either him or me
