Sigala doing a sorta GH album is getting him a top 20

if it wasn't a GH it wouldn't even be top 100, thats how much interest dance albums generate

I actually think dance acts shouldn't bother and do Playlists on Spotify adding songs in there

I really can't see Sigala getting any more hits from this album tbh. Once 'Just Got Paid' is over with he'll start afresh with a brand new single.

I know the Kylie fans really want 'What You Waiting For' to be a future hit (and I enjoy the song too) but it's been doing terribly on Spotify, as have the rest of his album tracks, except for 'Somebody' which got NMF playlist promotion (and I can't see that one getting big either).

The future of dance acts (well, the now for a lot of them) is just to do a load of singles and aim some of them at the commercial market. Or what The Chainsmokers are doing and just releasing a new song every month or so and adding it to their ever growing (streaming-only) "album" (which is now 7 songs long and so can actually be classified as an album in the chart, not that it's getting enough streams to make the official chart though I think it is in the dance albums chart).

Not bad sales for Sir rod,

Probably end up with sales of 40k max. Saw him at HMV on oxford street last night.

Doing terribly on Spotify because of no playlist promotion. It's a bit of a moot point.

What's the chance of Panic overtaking George to get #10? I doubt it's very much but ughhhh if this peaks at #11!! (woulda been top 10 had George done the sensible thing and promoted his new single on Strictly instead grr :arrr:)
Do we know if Kylie is stop 40 in today’s update?

Very unlikely this week I'm afraid!

Yup, same place as yesterday

Nice looks like Freya will go top 10

Never had thought

For some reason I thought Ari-Breathin would be top 10 instead

ugh, why George had to promote Shotgun on Strictly ? syugsygsy

i think HH still has good chances next week, "Eastside" will most likely get out of TOP 10 with the ACR status. Is there any big release this week capable of getting TOP 10? The only threats for the TOP 10 next week are "Be Alright" and possible "Shallow" i think.

Little Mix are releasing apparently

Shotgun back in the top ten? Well that would be unusual!

Yeah, the following weeks we will have battles between Little Mix, Cheryl, Zara Larsson and Ellie Goulding releases, so HH better hurry up and snatch at least 1 week in the TOP 10.

What a busy year end |o|

I doubt Cheryl will pose a significant threat to that battle

I doubt Cheryl will pose a significant threat to that battle

I am really intrigued to see how she will do, the music landscape has changed so much since her last release and although I think she is guaranteed big radio support still its how well she'll transition to streaming that will be key in factoring her success.

It's going to be really interesting to see how streaming affects the chart in the future. As the streaming generation grow up, we could see older artists (eg. today's artists when they're old) in the chart more regularly.

I don't think she necessarily is guaranteed it. For instance, Radio 1 dumped her before the end of the last era and there's a likelihood that means they won't playlist her.
