Ava's not even in the bookies list for Xmas No.1, could be a dark horse, though if it stalls at any point before early-mid December then the Christmas songs will wade in and kill off its Spotify momentum until Jan. If it can get top five by then it will probably be fine.

 

I guess it's unlikely she'll overhaul Ariana, but a lot can happen in five weeks.

Baby is stuck outside the Top 100 despite strong radio support.

Christmas songs this high already, wow/urgh!

I don't know what the overall flow of Spotify userbase over time is, but it really wouldn't surprise me if Christmas songs appearing to be significantly higher than usual is reflective of a growing reach for the platform overall, and thus the subset of people who use Spotify to scope out new hit music gets less significant, and easier to topple.

Baby needs to be moved upwards on Hot Hits a bit really, that might help a bit.

As far as I’m concerned, Christmas starts on the 1st and ends on the 25th

Christmas starts way too early and ends way too early. I feel like if you get too Christmassy in November (or even early December as I found last year) then you're just building up to a massive anticlimax and you feel lost halfway through Christmas Day. I'm keeping the music off until we're in the direct run-in to Christmas this year and hoping I can keep it going until at least early January being a Christian.

(and anyway that Top 15 is probably down to the Top 50 effect so it'll likely drop quite substantially tomorrow)

I actually have no idea how their album is going to do, it's not doing very well on iTunes pre-orders and it's never really been that high either, I can see it debuting around #6 - #8 which will be a disappointing result.
