It was great to see Panic Room crack the Top 40, it wasn't as amazing as Cola (shame you weren't a fan :( )and I think I'll be following Elderbrook from now on but this one was a nice dance piece!

Sweet But Psycho really is great, it took a little longer to hit me than it did for everyone else but it's an absolute barnstormer of a pop song!

Nice songs all of them, except for "Lucid Dreams" and "Look Alive" both of which are meh.

Especially love that "Sweet But Psycho" entered in your Year-End Chart!

Panic Room  CamelPhat seem to be bringing out the tunes on a regular basis now, this will appear similarly high in my EOY.

Still need to hear his new one!

It got a nice run despite its modest peak but really deserved even better imo.

YES at Panic Room making it to this countdown

A top notch tune indeed :D

It was quite instant for me! And fortunately I'm still really liking it all these weeks later - having said that I'd prefer Mariah or Mark to get to #1 next.

Yay for Close To Me being top 30!

It probably deserved to be a little higher here actually, I'm hoping it re-peaks after the Xmas clearout.

Fair enough you're not a fan of those two.

Always room for a catchy pop song or two in my chart :)

13. Drake - God's Plan

Not even top 10, what on earth is this? Well, it really does boil down to overexposure - I mean I was spamming this like I hadn't spammed a song before back at the start of the year (it comfortably topped my Spotify Wrapped playlist which I may post later). It's by all means still a brilliant track however, not many could get away with rapping over 2 notes for 3 minutes, and up there with Drizzy's very best for me now. It's just not a song I was actively needing to play myself for last half of the year as it was rather inescapable!

'God's Plan' is brilliant, and again it'll end up in a similar position in my EOY. Drake's great as ever and the beat is quite something too.

12. Panic! At The Disco - High Hopes

We all love a random comeback hit & even better, this was from a band of which I've always held in reasonably high regard. Never in a million years did I think they would come back out of the wilderness & get their highest ever peaking single, in the STREAMING era no less but that's the beauty of music! Anyway the song is outstanding, a glorious feelgood anthem that always lifted my mood. Say Amen was fantastic too, they guys have still got it!

11. Lil Dicky (feat. Chris Brown) - Freaky Friday

It should as no surprise to anyone to see this song appear here but it did narrowly get edged out of the top 10 when it came to compiling the finalised list. Okay, I'm well aware this song has many flaws but I for one can't deny a good DJ Mustard beat, an ultra-catchy hook & the pure fact that the whole song is a piss-take that was never meant to be taken seriously. It brought pleasure to many a night out & provided the UK a long overdue "joke" #1 single. Admittedly, it has tired on me slightly hence it's gradual decline in this countdown.

Easily his best track this year for me & he's had a pretty great one at that! Scorpion was a solid album.

God's Plan was brill at the start of the year. Will probably end up in the 11-20 region in my EOY chart too.

Freaky Friday is great too. I never really got the hate it got, very fun song and the cameos at the end were pretty funny as well. :D

High Hopes - Excellent song. Glad this became Panic's first Top 40 song in a long time.

Freaky Friday - A guilty pleasure of mine [mainly the music video]

God's Plan - Quite fun

LOVE 'High Hopes' and 'Freaky Friday'. Looking forward to finding out how they've done in the official year-end chart!

Yeah it was an essential play every day for me!

I can see why it rubbed people up the wrong way but I just took it as an insanely catchy track that was a throwback to when the Mustard sound was massive 4/5 years ago.

You & me both with Panic! Amazing to see how high it's reach on the Billboard too.

Ah yes I may try & catch some of that, only managed to hear that top 10 last year.

10. Ramz - Barking

The last carryover from 2017 & comfortably the highest here. Hard to believe it's been over a year already since this was making waves in the chart! An absolute earworm and one of the best UK rap songs I've heard in a good while. As much as I loved 'God's Plan' I was really willing this to sneak a week at #1 (it's not as if the former hadn't had a good run) but I wonder if he'll remain a relative one-hit wonder. 'Family Tree' did nothing for me anyway.

I was really disappointed Barking missed the top spot, amazingly enough it was the only song Drake kept off the top this year :o At least we got our UK-urban #1 with Dave later in the year.

Barking is another fun tune

It's among my top 100 played of 2018.

That is quite the surprising stat that!

Indeed and considering how much of a chart force rap is no that's a pretty bonkers piece of trivia. It seems getting into the chart is easy for these types of songs but getting to the top is still an extremely difficult challenge!
