December 30, 20186 yr Author aJOTlE1K90k #10. Lil Pump - Gucci Gang [88 points] 75-45-38-{27}-27-27-27-33-67-60-53-62->12 Horrific. Tf it's been a long long time since I've been subjected to hearing this trash but it's so bad. Legit just gucci gang said a billion times over and over again and the production is dreadful. This is literally the epitomy of dreadful rap spotify hit. So so bad. At least he hasn't had another solo hit since iirc?? {commentary by UltraReputation} #09. Maroon 5 - Girls Like You (feat. Cardi B) [91 points] 28-16-11-13-10-8-{7}-9-8-7-9-9-7-10-7-9-11-29-31-25-29-31-42-52-57-53-72-74->28 Or should that be 'Girls Like YouTube', as one wise poster put it? (as it's inexplicably been in the top 3 of the video streaming chart for months and months). I don't get how this song was so huge, it's only now starting to properly decline in the US and it spent ages in the UK chart too, and for such a non event of a song too. I can tolerate most of Maroon 5's songs, some I even like, but this is just so bland it's annoying and it is not helped by the squeaky guitar that is all throughout the song (which you cannot un-hear). Cardi B can't save it either with one of her non essential raps, she can do a lot better. {commentary by Dan} #08. Stefflon Don - Ding-A-Ling (feat. Skepta) [91 points] {64}->1 Some people somehow didn't only think this was a good idea, but then actually went out to write and produce this mess of a song, and for whatever reason Skepta signed onto it too (as if he could save it). Basically the reason it's top 10 (probably) is simply that it has the most annoying use of a sample ever, but there's also no tune to it and the lyrics aren't anything to write about either (Stefflon spends half her verse rapping about her pussy, lovely). {commentary by Dan} #07. XXXTENTACION - SAD! [92 points] 26-28-20-19-24-24-29-39-39-31R(7)-{5}-14-18-22-46-50-61-64-75-75-75R(3)->21 The first top 10 appearance for xxxtrashtacion. Dreadful song from a person I've gone into detail enough about and doesn't deserve any more of my time. Anyway this was the biggest hit of the year by said artist, going to #1 in America ugh and doing well here (it didn't go #1 here right iirc?). One of the worst songs of the year & least deserved hits in a long time. {commentary by UltraReputation} #06. XXXTENTACION - changes [92 points] 71-71R(3)-33R(12)-{22}-37-45-49-52->8 Back to back of said artist above. This song is a tiny tiny bit better than Sad but that really says absolutely nothing in the general scheme of things. Another dreadful song that deserves a top 10 placing here and all the hate it gets. {commentary by UltraReputation} +++ Don't worry guys I haven't forgot about this, come back tomorrow in time for the top five most HATED songs of the year which on New Year's Day we can all leave behind and forget about their existence! Below are the contenders, and I can reveal we do have a clear winner, but by how many points? Top 5 in alphabetical order: 6ix9ine - FEFE (feat. Nicki Minaj & Murda Beatz) 6ix9ine - GUMMO Anne-Marie - 2002 Kanye West & Lil Pump - I Love It Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday (feat. Chris Brown) get your predictions in now! :o
December 30, 20186 yr Girls Like You deserves higher than even #9, offensively bad song. Ding-A-Ling  can't even remember how it goes but the Simpsons sample is rather amusing. I like the song but I do love the fact the 2002 is in the top 5 with the 4 most predictable other tracks to be there. Re GUMMO does everyone who voted that actually know the song or just voted cos it's him lol.
December 30, 20186 yr Girls Like You is absolutely abysmal, it's so dull and nothingy that it verges into actually being terrible rather than inoffensive. Cardi legit sounds like she's being forced at gunpoint to do her rap  Freaky Friday should NOT be this high.
December 30, 20186 yr Not when Wiggle Wiggle exists. (Never mind Trumpets, Swalla or It Girl) Wiggle was far better, the undeserved 2014 winner.
December 30, 20186 yr 'Ding-A-Ling' was a pretty disastrous career move from Stefflon but I don't think it's that terrible, it's worth a good laugh at least. Find it kind of amusing how high up it is in this despite making zero impact on the charts  (of course that applies to 'GUMMO' as well but that makes more sense for obvious reasons). Shocked at 'Gucci Gang' being that low (and behind 'I Love It') but it's still a guilty pleasure bop so not complaining too much xx '2002' to win please, that's the only one of the top 5 I voted for.
December 30, 20186 yr Gucci Gang: This song is a guilty pleasure. I've also heard Drake Bell's cover thanks to a BradTastesMusic video I came across and I'm just LOLing at the awkward genre shift from hip hop to acoustic teen pop in this cover. Girls Like You: and I like this song Ding A Ling: I did not like this Sad is okay. Not very fond of Changes.

December 31, 20186 yr Author Il-an3K9pjg #05. Anne-Marie - 2002 [99 points] 8-5-5-5-4-{3}-3-3-3-3-6-10-12-21-26-32-32-37-34-44-54-58-59-62-72-73-72->27 I remember when Anne-Marie was a promising rising talent, she had a few good songs in 'Alarm' and 'Ciao Adios', then over the next few singles she got gradually worse, 'Heavy' and 'Then' didn't have much to them (though I enjoyed the John Gibbons remix of 'Heavy'), 'Friends' was alright but quickly got a bit annoying... then this happened, and I haven't enjoyed any of her chart hits since either. To get the main reason for its high appearance out of the way, that chorus is so irritating, the mashup of popular songs from back in the day does not work, and I'd still dislike it even if the songs were all actually from 2002. It doesn't help that it has serial offender Ed Sheeran in the writing credits, but he can do much better than this. The sentimental lyrics don't help and the instrumental does nothing for me either. Can we please get some good songs from her next year? It's not looking promising at the moment (especially if 'Perfect To Me' takes off, that could contend for next year's worst of list) but she must still have it in her. I'm pleased to see this top five anyhow. {commentary by Dan} gAs9HZC9c7Y #04. 6ix9ine - GUMMO [106 points] DNC We now get to the first appearance of 6ix9ine, whose two entries in the chart both land in the top five (also becoming the only act to appear twice in the top five). He's undeniably the biggest hate figure of the year anyhow, but I'm still surprised this is as high as it is as it never made the UK chart (though it was big in the US). It's deserved though; 'FEFE' was bad but his absolute worst has to be this horrific shouty mess of a song, which is hard to distinguish from his other similar 'efforts' so you may as well add the other shouty songs of his into this position, but 'GUMMO' was the biggest and most obnoxious. Hopefully he goes to prison for a good few years and we are saved from more of his songs making the chart. {commentary by Dan} aZla1ttZHaw #03. Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday (feat. Chris Brown) [150 points] 16-5-{1}-2-3-4-4-4-4-15-19-32-37-45-47-54-60-63-67->19 Well this is my personal least favourite of the year, and it's not quite as painful as certain other songs released this decade ('Let It Go' remains my least favourite of the 2010s) but this takes it this year for being cringe, totally unfunny and painful to listen to; which also could be why it ends up in the top three here. It's the second time Chris Brown has topped my 'worst of' list following 'Don't Wake Me Up' and it really is nearly as bad. Now the beat is okay, being the standard DJ Mustard beat (I was hoping we'd hear a bit more from him after this but he seemingly went back into obscurity) but that isn't saving the song when it's basically a rip of better songs he's produced. We all know the real reason it's here and it's because of Chris Brown's whiny vocals and the song being all about just how "great" he is. Now I do like a few of his songs but at other times he is just really annoying such as here. Was it meant to be ironic that when he brags about how well he can sing, he's drowned in autotune and doing his worst whining? And I know it's supposed to be Lil Dicky with the voice of Chris Brown but we all know Chris really is this smug. And then he spends half the verse going 'ooh I'm black now I can say the n-word!1!!1!', which I don't find offensive as such, just not as funny as I'm sure he thinks it is. Oh and also the part where he talks about his dick... lovely. Then of course they have to bring Ed Sheeran and Kylie Jenner into it at the end to make it even worse (the DJ Khaled cameo wasn't as bad, at least they poked fun at him always yelling in his songs which gets annoying). And the half arsed resolution of 'but wait, I love myself!1!' (especially when it's Chris Brown singing it). Just an all-round annoying song and baffling that enough people enjoyed it (without the actual music video, this was before they counted) to send it to #1. {commentary by Dan} cwQgjq0mCdE #02. Kanye West & Lil Pump - I Love It [155 points] {3}-3-3-3-4-7-11-13-15-60-72->11 And the worst song of the year is so nearly #1 here. Trashye already inflicted a very very bad album on us earlier this year but everything on that sounded like a masterpiece compared to this. One of the worst videos of the year, utterly horrific and degrading lyrics, irritating and dreadful production and the lack of vocals from Trashye and Gucci Gang screamer all combined together made this an absolutely travesty. f*** knows how this was so successful but it already low-key feels forgotten tf. Definitely deserving of a top 2 placing here and easily one of my least fave songs of the past few years. {commentary by UltraReputation} V_MXGdSBbAI #01. 6ix9ine - FEFE (feat. Nicki Minaj & Murda Beatz) [194 points] 35-{17}-21-21-21-23-26-28-28-34->10 And that means the pedofile skittle is your winner for 2018! We'll make sure to send a message to jail to let him know x Also this means Nicki FINALLY scores a #1 in 2018 after taking many losses, #2 positions and number two's in terms of bad takes in 2018 :cheer: :cheer: I'll also let her know so she can then accuse Kanye of deducting points from his tally and cheating using 100 tactics that she also employed x Oh wait, she blocked me on twitter so I can't let her know x Anyway back to the actual song, the song is bad enough and lyrically is utterly revolting and vile (like most of the lead artist's trash songs). It's also not a good song at all. The main tragedy though was the public getting behind this with the known disgusting criminal's history out there. Hopefully we won't hear anymore music from him now. And Nicki's 2018 has been one of the biggest ever downfalls for an artist I used to stan so much, every single thing in 2018 just got worse and worse. This was the point where I really started to unstan her and I've completely stopped listening to her music over the last few weeks after her recent comments/actions. Though wd buzzjack for giving the trash lead artist a title he actually he deserves! Even tho I hate I Love It more, these are my two worst songs of the year so buzzjack acc slaying for once *.* {commentary by UltraReputation} +++ Most of you saw that winner coming from a mile away, I predicted it would win before I even started this too. Thanks Sam for providing half of the commentaries and the rest of you for voting anyhow, and let's hope we see a lot less of 6ix9ine in 2019. Full chart: 1 194 6ix9ine - FEFE (feat. December 31, 20186 yr The Top 4 were all horrendous so glad they were where they were! Thanks Dan and Sam for doing this!
December 31, 20186 yr Like some of his songs but those 2 are both pretty awful so no complaints there. I Love It is only good for the video, the song is bleh Freaky Friday & 2002 are both brill however :P Thanks for running this as per folks! Here's to another year of hating :D
December 31, 20186 yr Aw, '2002' so close to beating 'GUMMO', that would have been amusing. x It would have been pretty shocking if 'FEFE' didn't win, it's a pretty boring song even if you don't consider the visceral disgust at it because of who he is. It's pretty weird that his biggest hit is one that lacks his sole gimmick that made his music even slightly compelling in the first place (i.e. the hyper energetic screamed vocals). I know 'FEFE' is... slightly more commercially friendly? But 6ix9ine of all people having a 'commercial' hit is just weird in itself. Luckily it seems very likely that he is going to be rightfully left as an oddity confined to 2018.
December 31, 20186 yr I haven't heard the 6ix9ine songs or I Love It, but I have no intention to as they both sound horrific, I'm fine with them coming out on top here. Sickens me how the former actually had some hits to his name this year given he was a convicted criminal at the time(?) :/ That said, Freaky Friday and 2002 are both horrific as well, the former for fairly obvious reasons and the latter for being possibly the most cringeworthy plays on 'nostalgia' I've ever heard.
December 31, 20186 yr Well at least the top 4 is correct. I don’t care for 2002 but I don’t see how that’s worse than what’s below it. It’s definitely the most polarizing though so I can see why that’s such a hate magnet (that and Buzzjack’s irrational fear for anything related to Ed Sheeran).
December 31, 20186 yr 2002 is extremely disappointing considering how exciting a prospect Anne-Marie once was, but I don't think it would have quite the level of hatred on here if it wasn't linked to Sheeran. FEFE would deserve to be number 1 even if 6ix9ine wasn't a disgusting human being, the track is just dreadful on an unholy level. Edited December 31, 20186 yr by andeeeeyhart
