Anyway, I really don't want Mariah Carey's AIWFC to be announced as the #1 on the chart AFTER Christmas. That's just depressing when Christmas is over (or at least it feels like its over) imo. Hope Ava can take the #1.

Really hope Mariah does take the #1 Friday.

If she doesn't get it Friday and theres no more rule changes for next year is probably her best chance with Christmas falling on the Wednesday.

I love how the public view Christmas. They have a massive 3 month build up and then act like it’s all over come Boxing Day when really the 12 days of Christmas only just started and it isn’t over until January 6th.

 

Really makes you realise just how commercial the holiday has become.

I'm hoping Leona can hold top 15, Seems more achievable than top 10.

Be good if she can beat 19 she got last year, I didn't think she would return top 20 this year with ACR.

So I am glad shes atleast peaked at same she did last year but would be great if she could do better than 19.

But people these days follow retail patterns so Xmas and winter are over and the Easter eggs come out and holidays are on sale. Similar to celebrations boxes being put out in August bank holiday!

Why are we even having this discussion about Boxing Day Christmas streams? We all clearly saw last year that some people do still play them on Boxing Day. Yes, they do collapse in streams, but I'm absolutely certain there were some in the top 200 last year on Boxing Day.

 

Yeh pretty sure Mariah was streamed 250k on Boxing Day last year, still top 20 for one more day! Be more this year prob around 400k with the increwased market!

Says on chart data on iTunes Ava has sold apx 2000 downloads in 24 hours which doesn't seem that much tbh!

1300k (25th) - 210k (26th) - 92k (27th)

 

this year's figures for the 25th are much higher, 1637K, so guess it will be also higher for tomorrow

 

I did a quick calculation and got similar figures for Mariah and Ava, but it all depends on the drop Mariah has on Thu, which the occ are gonna predict

same here...i listen xmas songs at cd player on my car until 2nd Jan.

i really hope that Mariah will be on no2 at least.but ill be more than happy if she goes to no1.she deserve it.already done some records in other charts this year

Its looking unlikely, usually we get mids from a different source for a Thursday, and that source is on their Xmas break, and we haven't received anything in the past week anyhow from that source.

There should be no such thing as estimations made on a chart that should be purely sales

If Thursday is estimated they'll make sure Ava gets to the top spot to save face!

I don't think there's any need for the 'female' qualifier here unless I'm forgetting an obvious song by a male artist that did anything like this?
