There's probably truth in both opinions but then why would any artist ever release a 3/4th single?

I know you get the odd exceptions but more often than not pre album singles tend to do better than post album. ( except if the album bombs)

Surely people are more likely to think "that's the third song I know and like from this album now, I might invest in it"?

I know the album is selling regardless, but I really don't agree that only showcasing the same two songs over and over again makes sense as a marketing strategy.

It's only the beginning of 2019/end of 2018. Shotgun is one of the UK's definitive hits for the past year. It would make sense for him to perform either that or Hold My Girl.

Camila did the same thing - perform Never Be The Same (a definitive 2018 smash) for New Year's Rockin Eve. IT'S. NOT. THAT. DEEP.

He performed THREE songs.

That was pretty much the only thing Camila released this year, her album campaign is finished and she's not currently promoting anything. George actually has a current single, that's the difference.

Camila did have 'Consequences' - just no one noticed

it was a pity cos Consequences was great

her label is the worst, they got lucky that Havana is such a great track that couldn't be ruined

but they totally wasted She Loves Control and Consequences

she could have had 2 more big hits and a higher selling album

I firmly believe they wasted a surefire top 5 hit (both in the UK and the US) with 'She Loves Control', which probably should have happened in the summer.

Yep this completely. Ever since the album dropped it was SO obvious She Loves Control had to be a single ugh. SLC should've been a single early summer (probs early June at the latest cos NBTS was still peaking in America in May iirc) and it would've been massive and then Consequences in the winter (kinda how it was released) but with more promo and coming off SLC, I think it would've done really well.

and instead they pushed that awful Sangria Wine thing

I'm not sure why anyone is questioning George, he had by far the biggest artist album last year and it is still riding high this year.

As a rule I defo think TV promo works better these days with an established hit.

As posted 36792 times

He performed 3 songs

So 1 at least should have been the current single

Ezra will perform Shotgun at the BRITs and it'll be #1 after that, just watch

Hopefully he performs Pretty Shining People. That has to be the next single, it’s the most obvious single on the album apart from Paradise and Shotgun.

Pretty Shining People next please and Saviour after that

Actually, Official Cast Recording: The Greatest Showman had by far the biggest artist album xx

I meant artist as in 1 person.

I meant artist as in 1 person.
So, "The biggest solo artist album of the year"?

Yes. I love The Greatest Showman but its promo, release strategy, singles etc are obviously very different to an solo album by an artist.
