5th. Take A Bow = 8 Votes

Welcome to Round 10 of Madonna's 'Something To Remember' survivor polls and as we enter into the double figures round the latest song to drop is 'Take A Bow', after an intense battle with 'Rain' throughout the week, both were literally neck and neck, until the very last minute when this edged out in front and therefore finishing in a very respectable 5th place. The track has remained pretty popular during these polls, where up until the last round it never received more than a single vote and as we get down the last remaining few, something had to drop out and it was this little gem.

'Take A Bow', was released in December 1994 as the 2nd single from her 6th album Bedtime Stories. It is a midtempo pop ballad written and produced by Madonna and Babyface, which also makes this their first time working together and Recorded at The Hit Factory Studios in New York, "Take a Bow" was backed by a full orchestra. It was also the first time that Babyface had worked with live strings, per Madonna's suggestion. Upon release the song was a massive commercial success in the USA, by becoming her 11th chart topper there and longest reign at the top there with 7 weeks, as well as topping the charts in Canada and top 10 peaks in Switzerland & New Zealand. However in the UK it wasn't so successful by reaching #16 and ending her record breaking run of 35 top 10 hits there.

I suppose the 'BS' album is quite a bit of a mixed bag for die-hard Madonna fans alike, by choosing to tone down her image and opt for a more R&B New Jack Swing sound, But the picture became so clear with Bedtime's final chapter, the heartfelt, sad and beautiful #1 hit ballad Take a Bow. As the Shakespearian lyrics described, Madonna was not saying goodbye to a broken relationship and a fractured romance as much as she was saying goodbye to her former life and self. It became clear that Madonna was at a turning point in her life and her heartfelt voice suddenly had become a beautiful instrument sung with raw emotion and tender sadness.

Right then guys just 4 left now, same rules apply just vote for least fave from the remaining lot and the one with the most votes will be out by the next round.
