Biography

Lady Gaga

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (born March 28, 1986), known professionally as Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her unconventionality and provocative work, as well as visual experimentation. Gaga began performing as a teenager, singing at open mic nights and acting in school plays. She studied at Collaborative Arts Project 21, through New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, before dropping out to pursue a music career. After Def Jam Recordings canceled her contract, Gaga worked as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing, where Akon helped her sign a joint deal with Interscope Records and his own label KonLive Distribution in 2007. She rose to prominence the following year with her debut album, the electropop record The Fame, and its chart-topping singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face". A follow-up EP, The Fame Monster (2009), featuring the singles "Bad Romance", "Telephone", and "Alejandro", also proved successful.

Gaga's second full-length album Born This Way (2011) explored electronic rock and techno-pop. The album peaked atop the US Billboard 200 and sold more than one million copies in the country during its first week. Its title track became the fastest selling song on the iTunes Store with over a million downloads in less than a week. Gaga experimented with EDM on her third studio album Artpop (2013), which reached number one in the US and included the single "Applause". Her collaborative jazz album with Tony Bennett, titled Cheek to Cheek, and her soft rock-influenced fifth studio album, Joanne (2016), also topped the US charts. During this period, Gaga ventured into acting, playing leading roles in the miniseries American Horror Story: Hotel (2015–2016), for which she received a Golden Globe Award, and the critically acclaimed musical romantic drama A Star Is Born (2018). She also contributed to the latter's soundtrack, which made her the only woman to achieve five US number one albums in the 2010s. Its lead single "Shallow" topped the charts in several countries and has been nominated for numerous awards.

Having sold 27 million albums and 146 million singles as of January 2016, Gaga is one of the best-selling music artists in history. Her achievements include several Guinness World Records, six Grammys, three Brit Awards, and an award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Gaga has been declared Billboard's Artist of the Year and included among Forbes's power and earnings rankings. She was ranked at number four on VH1's Greatest Women in Music in 2012, finished second on Time's 2011 readers' poll of the most influential people of the past ten years, and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2015. She is known for her philanthropy and social activism, including LGBT rights, and for her non-profit organization, the Born This Way Foundation, which focuses on promoting youth empowerment and combating bullying. - Wikipedia

Bradley Cooper

Bradley Charles Cooper (born January 5, 1975) is an American actor and filmmaker. He has been nominated for many awards, including four Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and a Tony Award. Cooper appeared in Forbes Celebrity 100 on two occasions and Time's list of 100 most influential people in the world in 2015. His films have grossed $7.8 billion worldwide and he was named one of the world's highest-paid actors for three years.

Cooper enrolled in the MFA program at the Actors Studio at The New School in 2000. His career began in 1999 with a guest role in the television series Sex and the City. He made his film debut two years later in the comedy Wet Hot American Summer. He first gained recognition as Will Tippin in the spy-action television show Alias (2001–2006), and achieved minor success with a supporting part in the comedy film Wedding Crashers (2005). His breakthrough role came in 2009 with The Hangover, a critically and commercially successful comedy, which spawned two sequels in 2011 and 2013. Cooper's portrayal of a struggling writer in the thriller Limitless (2011) and a rookie police officer in the crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines (2012) drew praise from critics.

Cooper found greater success with the romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook (2012), the black comedy crime film American Hustle (2013), and the war biopic American Sniper (2014), which he also produced. For his work in these films, he was nominated for four Academy Awards, becoming the tenth actor to receive an Oscar nomination in three consecutive years. In 2014, he portrayed Joseph Merrick in a Broadway revival of The Elephant Man, garnering a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play. That year, he also voiced Rocket Raccoon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2018, Cooper directed his first film with the musical romantic drama A Star Is Born, in which he also starred. He also contributed to its writing, production, and US Billboard 200 number one soundtrack. Its lead single "Shallow" topped the charts in seven countries and has been nominated for several awards.

Cooper's personal life is the subject of constant media attention. He was married to Jennifer Esposito from 2006 to 2007 and has been in a relationship with Irina Shayk since 2015, with whom he has a daughter. Cooper supports several organizations that help people fight cancer. - Wikipedia

Biography

In 2016, Khalid Robinson was voted Most Likely to Go Platinum by his high school class. About a year later, he proved them right. A military kid, Robinson split his childhood between Georgia, Kentucky, upstate New York, and Heidelberg, Germany, eventually settling in El Paso, Texas—a pattern of dislocation that often made him feel like an outsider. Self-described as “an awkward teen,” he picked up songwriting primarily to stave off loneliness, sharing music through SoundCloud and quickly catching the ears of both his peers and the industry. (His breakout single, 2016’s “Location,” was recorded during spring break of his senior year; a few weeks after it came out, he won Prom King; within a couple of years, the song had sold more than five million copies in the U.S. alone.) In 2017, he released American Teen, a celebratory but bittersweet mix of synth-pop and neon-lit R&B that garnered five Grammy nominations—proof that you’re rarely an outsider alone. In between, Robinson featured on high-profile collaborations with Logic (“1-800-273-8255”), Calvin Harris (“Rollin”), and Normani (“Love Lies”), among others. An EP, Suncity, arrived in late 2018, opening with audio of Khalid being given keys to the city of El Paso—not bad for a kid who’d moved there only a few years before. Reflecting on his evolution from spectator to artist for Apple Music’s Up Next series, Robinson said, “I would sit in this apartment, I would look at the mountain behind me, I would watch all the lightning, and I would listen to music. I was like, ‘You know what? I need something to help me a little bit more.’” So he took it on himself and started to write. - iTunes

Biography

Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Tom Walker blends hip-hop-inspired beats, eclectic samples, and traditional songwriting in his music. Born in Scotland and raised in Manchester, England, Walker grew up listening to Ray Charles, the Police, and Bob Marley from his father's record collection, and taught himself how to play drums, guitar, piano, and bass. After studying songwriting at London's College of Contemporary Music, Walker began making music in earnest, collaborating with his housemates -- who included members of Whilk & Misky -- in their home studio. One of his songs, 2016's "Sun Goes Down," interpolated the '30s work song "I'll Be So Glad When the Sun Goes Down" and featured poet/musician Kojey Radical. The track earned acclaim and airplay on Radio 1, and Walker signed to Relentless soon after. His official debut single, "Fly Away with Me," arrived later that year. The Blessings EP was released in April 2017, along with a pair of singles, "Heartland" and "Leave a Light On." Walker started working with producer Mike Spencer on his debut album soon after, putting together 12 tracks of impeccably produced soulful, contemporary pop. Preceded by the singles "My Way" and "Angels," the album What a Time to Be Alive -- which took its title from the track "Blessings" -- was issued in late 2018. - iTunes

good he's moving up

at least this one is less shouty than Leave a Light On

I was happy enough for him to get another single in the Top 100 so for this to be doing as well as it is is just amazing and it looks to be only heading in one direction.

Mark Ronson featuring Miley Cyrus

Nothing Breaks Like A Heart

170x0w.jpg

1st single from Late Night Feelings

Released: 30th November 2018

Label: Mark Ronson

Mark Ronson has described his forthcoming album as a collection of “sad bangers” inspired by sorrow and heartbreak. Country and disco have strong pedigrees for producing great songs from melancholy, and he and Miley Cyrus blend the two to aching effect here. Whether you’re crying on the dance floor or the front porch, this one’s for you: Gliding strings and a club beat back a twanging acoustic riff and Miley’s gorgeous, love-bruised vocal. In a song written before Cyrus lost her home in the November 2018 California wildfires, she alludes to a fading relationship with the line “These silver bullet cigarettes/This burning house, there’s nothing left/It’s smokin’”—lyrics that have taken on even deeper poignancy. - iTunes

Biography

Mark Daniel Ronson (born 4 September 1975) is a British musician, DJ, songwriter, and record producer. Although his debut album Here Comes the Fuzz (2003) failed to make an impact on the charts, his second album Version (2007) reached number two in the UK and included three top 10 singles. This earned him a Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist in 2008. His third studio album, Record Collection, was released on 27 September 2010, peaking at number two in the UK. He is also a member of Silk City with Diplo.

In 2014, Ronson achieved his first UK and US number one single with "Uptown Funk," which featured vocals from Bruno Mars. The song earned Ronson the 2015 Brit Award for British Single of the Year, and the 2016 Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. His fourth studio album, Uptown Special, was released in January 2015, and became his first UK number one album and also peaked at number 5 in the US.

Ronson produced "Cold Shoulder" on Adele's first album, 19. He received acclaim for producing Amy Winehouse's album Back to Black, for which he won the Grammy Awards for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, Best Pop Vocal Album and Record of the Year for the single "Rehab". He has won Record of the Year twice, in 2008 as a producer and in 2016 as a performing artist. One of the most successful musicians in contemporary British popular culture, Ronson appeared on Debrett's 2017 list of the most influential people in Britain. - Wikipedia
