Biography

Delivering hazy trap and hedonistic rap verses on tracks such as "Gucci Mane" from their 2018 debut Any Minute Now, D-Block Europe are a London-based rap duo featuring Dirtbike LB and Young Adz.

The two rappers met while at school in South London -- LB was impressed with the skill Adz exemplified on his first track, "Da Prodigy," which he released when he was just 13. The pair struck up a friendship, with Adz going on to sign a deal with Universal and gain a following with his mixtapes. The pair began to collaborate in 2014; however, they decided to spend the next two years honing their craft to achieve a unique mix for their project. They made their first appearance in 2017, releasing the singles "Love of the Money" and "Large Amounts" on D-Block Records. The duo gained recognition with the tracks and with continuous support from the BBC's Fire in the Booth and the Westwood Crib Sessions. The two went on to work with various other artists including Not3s and Don Andre. D-Block Europe released their debut LP, Any Minute Now, which featured Yxng Bane in July 2018. - Spotify

Biography

Jax Jones

Jax Jones is a London-based DJ and producer whose sunny, uplifting house tracks incorporate a wide range of musical influences. Born Timucin Fabian Kwong Wah Aluo in 1987, he grew up listening to rap, gospel, Afro-beat, and numerous other genres, and began making beats as a teenager, initially as a hip-hop producer. He got into house music after meeting Duke Dumont, and the two collaborated on the song "I Got U," which became an immediate hit when it was released in early 2014, topping the U.K. singles chart. Jones released his debut single, "Yeah Yeah Yeah," in 2015, and co-wrote Dumont's summer hit "Ocean Drive." In 2016, Jones released the single "House Work," featuring British vocalist MNEK and Chicago house veteran Mike Dunn. Featuring vocals from U.K. singer RAYE, Jones' next single, "You Don't Know Me," became his biggest solo hit yet, reaching the Top Ten on numerous charts around the world. He followed up in 2017 with the Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don-assisted "Instruction." - iTunes

Years & Years

Showcasing the melismatic vocals of Olly Alexander, London's Years & Years artfully combine '80s-style ambient synth pop with funky electronic beats. The group came together in 2010 in London when multi-instrumentalists/producers Michael Goldsworthy and Emre Türkman met online while looking to start a band. They eventually added vocalist and actor Alexander after hearing him singing at a friend's house while taking a shower. The trio's keyboard and electronics-based sound first gained exposure when the single Traps was released on Kitsuné Music in 2013. The group's second EP, Real, came out in February 2014, and with some impressive live dates under their belts, Years & Years announced they had signed a deal with Polydor.

Their first major-label single, Take Shelter, appeared in August 2014, followed by a collaboration with the Magician on Sunlight a month later and by the release of Desire in November. In 2015, on the heels of winning the prestigious BBC Sound Of award, Years & Years released their debut full-length album, Communion. Well received, the album debuted at number one in the U.K., and peaked in the Top 50 of the U.S. Billboard 200. The following year, they were nominated for four BRIT Awards and contributed the single "Meteorite" to the Bridget Jones' Baby soundtrack. In 2018, they returned with the Kid Harpoon-produced single "Sanctify." - iTunes

Biography

Cadet

South London grime artist Cadet (aka Blaine Johnson) grew up alongside fellow MCs Konan, Krept, and Redz as part of the notorious Gipset gang. The teenage crew gained a considerable following across social media toward the end of the noughties with their videos of freestyles about gang life and London living. Using music as their escape, the members all focused on their careers, with Krept and Konan eventually signed to a major in 2013. Cadet continued to plow his own path, and in 2015 delivered freestyles for underground London-based music channel OSM Vision, and suddenly saw his profile skyrocket. Switching his tone from gang-related tales to emotional lyrics about life and its tribulations, Cadet found a new audience for his raps. In 2016 Cadet dropped his first mixtape, The Commitment. The self-released album saw him teaming up with the likes of Donae'o and Tis Rome. Continuing to deliver freestyles for various online music channels including SBTV, the rapper built up a respectable following. Cadet released a follow-up album, The Commitment 2, the following year. Featuring a number of singles -- including "Instagram Girls" and "No More Letters" -- the album cemented Cadet's rise from teenage tearabout to full-fledged grime star. - Spotify

Deno Driz

Social media sensation who rose to fame via his schoolyard singing on Instagram. He rose to stardom when his impromptu cover of Geko's song "Over and Under" went viral on Instagram in March 2016. He is a member of the music duo AJ x Deno. They released the song "Ride or Die" in 2017. - FamousBirthdays

Play is still great but I’m kinda over it now

Kitchen Kong’s sounds like literally every urban song released within the past 18 months. Unfortunately it’s lacking that extra something to help differentiate it, let alone set it above the others. Hard pass.

Radio 1 have credited D-Block Europe with (feat. Young Adz & Dirtbike LB)

They're the frontmen of D-Block Europe. They aren't credited separately on iTunes or Spotify hence no credit here.
