The Soundtrack album coming to break the The Greatest Showman record at most weeks at #1 :lol: So... we are going to listen to a few of Elton's back catalogue tracks during the summer :nocheer:

I was hoping they'd have actual Elton John vocals like they did for the Queen film, I'm not so keen on whoever's vocal it is in the trailer.

I'll still watch the film though, it looks great!

I wouldn't bet on the soundtrack spending (m)any weeks at #1 as the sales will be split between it and Elton John's 'Diamonds', there's no way it'll spend even half as long as TGS at #1.

I rather liked the reinterpretation of the songs in a non-chronological fashion - they suited the narrative, and the film is essentially a musical based on some events in Elton's life, inventive and the cast is superb, especially Taron Egerton. Elton's Manager/Partner/tosspot John Reid is beautifully played by Rob Stark. I mean Richard Madden, but the touching relationship is totally the lifelong friendship with Bernie Taupin, lyricist and decent egg. Some of the dance sequences are great. 7/10 at least...
I saw this on Saturday. Taron Egerton is such a good actor. Really enjoyed it.

Loved this!! Seen it tonight and throughly enjoyed it.

Random but does anyone have a link to a UK list of Elton’s biggest hits?

I know what’s #1. But I had a look at his discography and was quite shocked at where some songs peaked at.

I’ve been searching but just can’t seen to find one what’s sales based.

MTV broadcast this last month:

1 - Elton John = Candle In The Wind 97 :: 4,900k

2 - Elton John & Kiki Dee = Don't Go Breaking My Heart :: 1,200k

3 - Elton John = Sacrifice / Healing Hands :: 850k

4 - Elton John = Rocket Man :: 750k

5 - Elton John = Your Song :: 660k

6 - 2Pac ft Elton John = Ghetto Gospel :: 630k

7 - Elton John = Step Into Christmas :: 600k

8 - Elton John = I'm Still Standing :: 580k

9 - Elton John = Tiny Dancer :: 480k

10 - Elton John = Candle In The Wind :: 450k

I did have a few issues with the list, namely 'Candle in the Wind 97' should be at 5m if its been rounded to the nearest 100k; 'Your Song' is just its OCC era sales (1994 onwards) and the George Michael duet is missing.

Saw this last night and omg it was so sad :( the scene with his father it was just too much for me to take it!!!

It also makes you think about how fame comes with a big price!!!
