Posted March 25, 20196 yr Thanks to those of you who submitted nominations a while back, apologies for the delay but we're now finally moving on to the voting for the eleventh edition of The Best of BJSC - The Rejects. We'll be skipping the semi-finals stage (it's been a long enough delay already x) and going straight to a final - out of 205 eligible songs, 39 managed to secure nominations from at least six countries which is about the average size of a normal BJSC final so that seems like an appropriate cutoff. March 25, 20196 yr Author < FINALISTS 01 - 04 > 01 Daehun 109 // 02 Altyr Muunilinst 109 // Laura Branigan - Solitaire 03 Vülkyria 103 // Brendan Maclean - House Of Air 04 Summericia 109 // Excel's random number generator has frontloaded this Rejects final with songs from BJSC 109 (there may be a few more to come ~) Daehun open the show with K-Pop megastar IU, who was behind Daehun's first ever BJSC top 10 hit with 'Good Day' but has DNQed all four times she's been entered since (three more for Daehun and one for Elëdan). 'You & I' only just missed out on the final of BJSC 109 though and it's made it through here. The other two BJSC 109 cuts here are of the retro variety, with Altyr Muunilinst's 1983 electropop offering from the late Laura Branigan making it in alongside the 1984 spoken word/darkwave track from Anne Clark representing the currently dormant Summericia. We go back to BJSC 103 for the other finalist here, Vülkyria with Brendan Maclean's 'House Of Air', of infamous NSFW/L music video fame (still not linked here lest Google shut the site down xx). This one would have made it the first time around if not for a deduction so no surprise to see it sail through here. I've not prepared any fancy graphics or anything so this'll just be a basic reveal with some rambly paragraphs xox

Time will tell if the voting public will search good in bad or just search bad in good in this final. Wholune's debut entry from Deco is getting a lot of mileage ('Chances' is an appropriate title) as, on top of it being in Your Best of BJSC II (results pending x), it's also made it through here for a third shot at glory. Thelonia make it through with Madeaux featuring BRUX which, fun fact, is an alias of Elizabeth Rose, this one fell 1 place short of the final early last year as Thelonia often did prior to their recent rise to making the final much more consistently. Lastly in this section is a Sámi bop from Lotunia's Sofia Jannok, whose title translates to 'snow lion' #cats.

Unlike most of these qualifiers so far, this one was nowhere near qualifying first time round, actually finishing in second last place in the semi-final on equal points with the wooden spoon! They're followed by a pair of tracks which came close in BJSC 106, everyone's fave purveyor of Halloween music Chet Faker making it for Holland-Oats (I've always been surprised by how badly the handful of Chet Faker BJSC entries have all done) and New Lexico also qualifying with a poppy tune from CYN.

Would be lovely to get Goodbye (or Koto lol) in as well, but I'm less hopeful for that (clearly not as good as Vennu Mallesh x) REZZ was a criminal DNQ for yay for that! Cowtermont become the first country with more than one appearance in this Rejects final as they are of course in with PC Music's GFOTY as well, it was very surprising this one missed out the first time following her top 5 smash with 'Friday Night'. That means Cowtermont have made it with both of their eligible songs, could they be vying to win this as well after winning the main TBO with Moby? Finally we have some epic siren music from Peter Crowley making it in for the Kluminican Republic.
