December 3, 20195 yr This album is becoming like Catfish and the Bottlemen this time last year as one of my most anticipated of the new year!
January 2, 20205 yr Taken a little while to properly grow on me but I'm really loving 'Posthumous Forgiveness' now, definitely my favourite song from the album so far. I like how it's basically 2 different songs in one, I like the second part more but that just makes listening to the first half more gratifying knowing that it's coming :magic: Another new track 'Lost In Yesterday' coming out next week apparently ~
January 2, 20205 yr I can't say I'm too excited about this album sadly - just listening to “Let It Happen” at the moment on my countdown of the 2010s and it is in another league compared to the recent singles which have just fallen flat for me, especially “It Might Be Time” despite its production I just could not get in to at all. That said, I AM enjoying “Posthumous Forgiveness” quite a bit at the moment, so maybe there is hope for this project yet?
January 9, 20205 yr Pretty much everything so far this era has been incredible and this is no exception. 1. It Might Be Time --- 2. Borderline 3. Lost in Yesterday -- 4. Posthumous Forgiveness It Might Be Time remains unbeatable though.
January 15, 20205 yr I think I agree with Pavel's ranking except with #1 and #4 swapped xx 'Lost In Yesterday' has been the most instant of these singles so far for me though, sounding pretty groovy ~ so it could become a bigger fave if it grows on me like all the others have.
February 14, 20205 yr Pitchfork review, an 8/10 https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/tame-i...-the-slow-rush/
February 14, 20205 yr Most of the singles from the last album hadn't really grabbed me, but this is excellent. The production is as immaculate and as rich as ever. It's the pensive and sunkissed cousin to 'Currents' — I think it'll open up with more listens.
February 14, 20205 yr It's the pensive and sunkissed cousin to 'Currents' — I think it'll open up with more listens. It really does. At least judging by the singles. I listened to the album when I was in metro but it was loud so I'll have to do it again properly later. So far pretty great though.
February 15, 20205 yr Breathe Deeper and Is It True are my first discoveries. So good. Had the former on repeat today.
February 16, 20205 yr This is the first full album by them I've listened to (I am lazy etc.) so I don't know how it stacks up against the rest of their discog but I liked this album a lot, 'One More Year' is a fantastic opener (those trippy chopped up vox *.*) and I'm really loving 'Breathe Deeper' too as well as the singles I was already into, and 'On Track' / 'Is It True' are good highlights too. Will say the first half is definitely better than the second half though, the final track feels like it should have been more of a moment than it actually was at least on first listen. I think I like the subtle changes made to 'Borderline' for the album version as well, sounds a bit more dancey ~
February 16, 20205 yr Borderline hit me so hard a couple of days ago, I'm even more in love now. They really know how to layer songs up in the best possible way. It's insane to think that all of these songs were written and produced by one person.
February 16, 20205 yr 'Borderline' just brings me back to watching the Glasto coverage last summer as the song was big round then and the performance was class.
February 17, 20205 yr Instant Destiny is also starting to slay all my orifices. Literally the only songs below 9.5/10 are One More Year/Hour, Tomorrow's Dust and On Track.
February 18, 20205 yr It really does. You were right — it did. What a great album. It doesn't quite reach the same heights as 'Currents' but it's more consistent. 'Borderline' finally clicked with me, as well. The new production is perfect.
February 18, 20205 yr Would everyone agree its more commercial/accessible than their previous material?
