19. Adele - Someone Like You

Average score - 7.846 (more 9.5s)

Writers - Adele Adkins,Dan Wilson

Top scores : 10 - Scene,marcinjaro,Liam,ready for it,Bjork,Jester,N-S,zeus555,Spiceboy,JackJones,xajnipi,coi

Low scores : 2 - Jason,ThePensmith, 4 - Popchartfreak

Our top 20 continues with Adele's first no.1 which rocketed up the chart after she performed the song at the 2011 Brit awards. It spent five non-consecutive weeks at no.1 and has sold more than 1.5 million copies. I can't immediately think of any other no.1 singles which use only one musical instrument,Winifred Atwell's two chart toppers from the 1950s maybe.

18. Kleerup with Robyn - With Every Heartbeat

Average score - 7.846 (more 11s)

Writers - Robin Carlsson,Andreas Kleerup

Top scores : 11 - dandy*, 10 - marcinjaro,AH Gold,Liam,Bjork,Rush,Nick F1,Jester,Nimbus,Popchartfreak,brokenrecords

Low scores : 1 - Spiceboy, 2 - Jason, 2.5 - coi

This is not a no.1 single that is very well known to the wider public but I know it's well liked on Buzzjack so it's not really a surprise to see it finish this high. It has quite an unusual structure in that the verses are all together in the first half and then after the instumental break, you have a chorus (of sorts).

I wasnt particularly fussed about the Robyn song at the time but it's aged wonderfully & is a great listen now.

Someone Like You is an overplayed bore...

17. Blondie - Call Me

Average score - 7.872

Writers - Debbie Harry,Giorgio Moroder

Top scores : 10 - AH Gold,dandy*,Nimbus,oof,Popchartfreak,ThePensmith,JackJones

Low scores : 3 - Jason, 4 - Spiceboy,Mark223,danG

When I said the other day there was another song to come which only scored the minimum 23 points required to get through the first round, this was the one I was thinking of,but looking at the first round scores again, there is still another one to come. 'Call Me' was Blondie's fourth no.1 and was written for the film 'American Gigolo'.

16. The Human League - Don't You Want Me

Average score - 7.872 (more 10s)

Writers - Jo Callis,Philip Oakey,Philip Adrian Wright

Top scores : 10 - marcinjaro,AH Gold,Bjork,M4NG0,Chapman,Spiceboy,Nimbus,Popchartfreak,ThePensmith,PeteFromLeeds,Jade

Low scores : 1.5 - Rush, 2 - Jack,Dircadirca

This was the fourth single to be released from the 'Dare' album. Phil Oakey thought it was the worst song on the album and only agreed to the record company releasing it if they included a large colour poster with the single,so the group's fans wouldn't be ripped off. It ended up as the Christmas no.1 and the best selling single of 1981.

From 2009,this was Lady Gaga's third no.1,making her the first female singer to have three no.1 singles in the same year. After the Joe McElderry vs Rage Against The Machine battle had petered out,it returned to the top of the chart for one more week in 2010.

I would have bet something on Adele's SLY winning

amazing song coming from the guts, on perspective, I should have given it my 11

can't believe some ranked so low, must be lucky and never experienced a breakup

Some big losses tonight, I gave those 5 songs an average vote of 8.2 which is considerably higher than the average I gave the 15 songs which are left
Surely Bo Rap has this in the bag? Top 3 at least, I can't recall specifically what other songs are still in the mix.

I confess I needed 5 seconds to discover which Bo Rap were you talking about.

Well, I think you forgot that old lady that performed a very uninspiring version (to say the least) of her 30-year-old classic on Eurovision finale this Saturday night. I'm guessing that song will be the winner here.

I'm not sure specifically what song's gonna do it, but I'm definitely convinced she's going to win with I think four songs still to come in the top 15? This is domination

Sorry everyone,I made an error with 'La Isla Bonita'. It has 40 scores and there are only 39 voters. The extra score which shouldn't be there is a 10 so instead of appearing today in 13th place,it should actually be in 30th place. I have now added it to the post for 'I Feel Love' on page 10 so it's in the right place. All the songs from 30-15 have had their positions moved up by one. I have checked the scores of 'Papa Don't Preach' and 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' and they are correct so it doesn't appear the extra 10 was stolen from another song.

The revised top 30:

30. La Isla Bonita

29. Wuthering Heights

28. Into The Groove

27. Billie Jean

26. Believe

25. Breathe

24. Can't Get You Out Of My Head

23. Stan

22. We Found Love

21. Heaven Is A Place On Earth

20. Titanium

19. Someone Like You

18. With Every Heartbeat

17. Call Me

16. Don't You Want Me

15. Bad Romance
