About a year later, he proved them right. A military kid, Robinson split his childhood between Georgia, Kentucky, upstate New York, and Heidelberg, Germany, eventually settling in El Paso, Texas—a pattern of dislocation that often made him feel like an outsider. Self-described as “an awkward teen,” he picked up songwriting primarily to stave off loneliness, sharing music through SoundCloud and quickly catching the ears of both his peers and the industry. (His breakout single, 2016’s “Location,” was recorded during spring break of his senior year; a few weeks after it came out, he won Prom King; within a couple of years, the song had sold more than five million copies in the U.S. alone.) In 2017, he released American Teen, a celebratory but bittersweet mix of synth-pop and neon-lit R&B that garnered five Grammy nominations—proof that you’re rarely an outsider alone. In between, Robinson featured on high-profile collaborations with Logic (“1-800-273-8255”), Calvin Harris (“Rollin”), and Normani (“Love Lies”), among others. An EP, Suncity, arrived in late 2018, opening with audio of Khalid being given keys to the city of El Paso—not bad for a kid who’d moved there only a few years before. Reflecting on his evolution from spectator to artist for Apple Music’s Up Next series, Robinson said, “I would sit in this apartment, I would look at the mountain behind me, I would watch all the lightning, and I would listen to music. I was like, ‘You know what? I need something to help me a little bit more.’” So he took it on himself and started to write. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History 2017 43 Rollin (Calvin Harris feat. April 19, 20197 yr wait who was that one person who said it’s disrespectful to artists who died for them to not reach the top 10? bc that’s who I thought about
April 19, 20197 yr I’m just glad Avicii didn’t stall at the dreaded 11. Hope he gets top 10 next week though
April 19, 20197 yr 'Talk' peaked very early for me (a #40 smash in my chart :kink:), Disclosure are capable of a lot more really. Still, better than a lot of Khalid's other offerings.
April 19, 20197 yr Great to see this get so high, a real quality song (if we ignore the drop). Do they really need to dub out the word 'drugs' though, it really makes a mess of the song. I think the word 'drugs' being blanked out actually makes it marginally less cringeworthy tbh. It's a little too on the nose.

April 19, 20197 yr It’s all about the Disclosure VIP with this song for me. Have you heard it?? I have not :o but Disclosure are still killing it lately (hi Moonlight, Ultimatum and Funky Sensation ) so maybe I should!
April 19, 20197 yr 10 | 11 | 6th week Marshmello featuring CHVRCHES Here With Me Non-album single Released: 8th March 2019 Label: Republic Records Chart Statistics NE (21/03/2019) | 42-23-14-15-11-10 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 14 Sales 17 Audio Streaming 21 Video Streaming Video J3UXp9jIr-U Biography Marshmello might just be the unlikeliest pop star you could imagine—the anonymous DJ/producer is known only by his cartoonish, marshmallow-shaped mask, with its broad smile and big, sympathetic eyes. But given the way his music has resonated, he’s clearly the pop star we needed. He got his start with an equally unlikely fusion of tough-as-nails trap and candied EDM, and as early fans debated his identity, a co-sign from Skrillex gave singles like 2015’s trance-laced “Find Me” a viral boost. On Marshmello’s debut album, 2016’s Joytime, his signature qualities began to come into focus—the wistful vibes of “Summer,” the playful melodies of “Blocks,” the chilled-out cool of “Keep It Mello,” featuring deliciously laidback rapping from Omar LinX—but it was the nostalgic “Alone,” with its twin nods to 2000s emo and 1980s electro-pop, that solidified his persona. (“Alone” also kicked off a string of clever coming-of-age-themed videos that reinforced his essential relatability.) Since then, Marshmello has gone from an EDM curiosity to a ubiquitous fixture in pop, using collaborations with artists like Selena Gomez and Logic to further his singular brand of fun. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Marshmello 2017 03 Silence (feat. April 19, 20197 yr YES CHVRCHES getting their first Top 10 single! Especially with that lovely song.
April 19, 20197 yr I have not :o but Disclosure are still killing it lately (hi Moonlight, Ultimatum and Funky Sensation ) so maybe I should! Omg. It changed my entire opinion about the song! It goes off.
April 19, 20197 yr Congrats CHVRCHES for troubling the top 10 for the very first time! :cheer: 'The Mother We Share' deserved to be a #1 smash tbh but I'll take this, as 'Here With Me' has really grown on me over the last couple of weeks. That seems to be a theme with Marshmello lately as 'Happier' really grew to be a favourite in the end.
April 19, 20197 yr CHVRCHES having a top 10 hit  x This isn't exactly their best work but I have a huge soft spot for it despite knowing it's really basic as hell. It's just so cute.
April 19, 20197 yr Delighted for CHVRCHES, the song is growing on me a lot tbf, still can’t believe they’ve not had his commercial success before though. Not sure of my favourite by them. Possibly "Lies"?
