Exciting!! That description sounds promising, hopefully they've listened to the feedback of the fans.

Do we know yet if there will/won't be a Christmas special?

I don't think anything else has been said about that yet, although I think the logic was that there'd be a Christmas special as opposed to a New Year special to kick off the 2020 run. I guess we'll find out soon enough now!

I'm SO hyped, really looking forward to this

I can't help but think we're going to get more of the same in Series 12. I love Jodie but her first series was a damp squib compared to what it could have been. There would need to be a drastic change of direction and writing and I just don't see that happening.
100% this. She has the potential to be a great doctor, but the show was shite. They also need to let the doctor use guns and violence, as the show has shown how BAD complete nonviolence is vs dangerous threats and how much trouble it can get people into, AND the doctor often relies on others using guns to protect him/her anyway!! He hates guns but has no problem letting the church dalek woman blow up all his enemies when he's surrounded, letting him escape? If not for her guns, oops. Dead. He had no problem blowing up cyberman spaceships either. Sigh.

I am SO ready omg

Surely this means we must be getting either a Christmas or New Year's Day special with the series following immediately after?

I think the first episode is debuting on New Year’s Day and then the next episode on the Sunday afterwards

Despite last season I am actually pretty pumped for this now, I just need new Who :(
I am feeling no enthusiasm whatsoever. The last series really was so boring.

Must admit I agree, much as it saddens me to say :( I'll give it a go, but if it's more of the same, I may consider not watching at least until they get a new showrunner, I really don't like the direction they're taking the show.

This. I'll try it out, but I'm not watching another series as abd as thr last one. It was a cure for insomnia.

They're using the same slogan as last year then.

The last series was a damp squib - it had one good episode (which didn't feel like Dr Who at all), another with a great concept whose execution let its down, and the rest was largely forgettable and not interesting (it shouldn't be possible to make a dull episode with a Dalek, but they did it.) Hopefully Chibnall & co have learned from the last series and made something of a much better quality.

Those posters promoting it being on iPlayer have been around since shortly after series 11 started or finished airing, in shopping centres, etc so it's probably got nothing to do with series 12.

No that was just me using a reference to say it’s about time we got some sort of news :kink:

This time it’s about space

Writers are confirmed! Alongside Chibnall (:mansoncheer:), we have the following returning from last year:

Vinay Patel (Demons of The Punjab)

Ed Hime (It Takes You Away)

Pete McTighe (Kerblam!)

New writers are:

Nina Metivier

Maxine Alderton

Charlene James

Pleased for Pete McTighe returning as he’s such a massive fan of the show and Kerblam! was the most ‘Doctor Who’ ep of the series last year. It wasn’t perfect but certainly very promising and the Kerblam robots were such an epic design

So glad Pete McTighe is back, really excited to see what he's got this time! *.* (although hopefully it doesn't end up going down a Neil Gaiman type route x)

Assuming they've all done an episode each, at least that means one less Chibnall episode this time :magic:

Well, I'll give it a go, but I will probably just skip this series tbh and keep skipping till Chibham is replaced.
