Only climbing 7 places to #48 is quite disappointing for being #1 on such a big playlist

She was only places as track 1 yesterday after 5pm or something

It was definitely earlier than 5pm, this thread was discussing it just after 4pm, and it was probably placed there a bit before that!

I feel like there's still usually a bit more of a delay just because the update doesn't really force a roll out on the instant. So like, anyone who'd opened the playlist and not clicked off of it, won't necessarily see the update until a fair bit later, perhaps the next day when they've rebooted their device or something. I know sometimes I have to restart Spotify entirely just to get NMF to update :P

it doesn't matter of it was 4 or 5pm, the point is that it wasn't track #1 all day but just a few hours, hence the smaller effect

and now it's already down to #3 for some bizarre reason

Have a feeling Senorita will be at no1 again before the end of the summer!
I bet Senorita will be back at #1 next week
Schrödinger's Hot Hits, is it refusing to push new songs and thus making the chart stale, or is it accepting payola by playlisting songs that aren't actually the biggest hits? It's simultaneously both until you observe BuzzJack's Spotify thread to see which one people are complaining about at that particular moment.

The chart is stale because it's driven by the same people listening to the same songs every day for months on end. Nothing that the Official Charts Company or Spotify, Apple Music do will be able to change this.

So Freya will get a Top 50 boost, but today is Thursday so it won't count for the chart. Annoying but at least her album is out tomorrow so it should get a boost from that too?

Castles now at #2

Added

Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? (not as high as a I thought, it’s #21)

Charli XCX - Gone

Joel Corry - Sorry

whats pretty bizarre is that despite having the cover, Sam Smith is not #1 but track #3 on NMF

and track #1 is some Aaron Smith - Unspoken

cannot find any info at all about this Aaron Smith guy that is track #1 on NMF...

he's on all NMFs but only #1 on the UK so must be a UK artist :o but bizarre that he got placed at #1 ahead of Sam Smith, Beyonce, Jonas Blue, Charli XCX

I've been able to gather that he's from central Scotland, and he's worked closely with Lewis Capaldi's artist manager Scott Kirkwood.

that was an American dj guy

so this new one is a Capaldi clone thrown at us by some label realising Capaldi sells albums and trying to do a copycat?

it's nice, I like it, he has a better voice than Capaldi for sure
