July 19, 20197 yr Author Can't say I'm excited about any of the new additions this week really. Really sad to see P!nk booted off after just three weeks on the C-list :( I suppose it's getting to that time in her career where she no longer gets R1 support. I imagine she'll be over to R2 next era. Weird how they've removed Katy Perry already, yet kept on both the Miley and Little Mix flops. They normally love Katy! Michael Kiwanuka getting his first playlist entry since 2012! Presuambly that's the year he won the Sound Of?
July 19, 20197 yr Weird how they've removed Katy Perry already, yet kept on both the Miley and Little Mix flops. They normally love Katy! She old. :arrr:
July 19, 20197 yr Also, I find it really strange how they’ve playlisted Antisocial out of all the Ed tracks. I’d have thought they would have playlisted Take Me Back To London considering that’s the one that’s going to be charting today. A shame to not see Ritual playlisted, it surprises considering how much they normally love Rita. Also, I hope Maisie Peters gets moved up to the B List next week although I don’t think it will! Such a beautiful song.
July 19, 20197 yr boo they removed most of the best songs on the list and replaced them with meh songs
July 19, 20197 yr Katy Perry had 7 weeks. That's good considering people weren't expecting them to continue supporting her
July 19, 20197 yr Well this isn't particularly good. Too many meh new adds and removing a lot of good tracks a bit too early.
July 19, 20197 yr Completely disagree with everyone else. Loving all of these week’s new editions, particularly happy for L Devine and Gerry Read and DJ Koze!
July 19, 20197 yr Author On a more positive note, this is the 5th consecutive week they've added something straight to the A-list :D
July 19, 20197 yr Little Mix record label seem to have wasted a huge amount of money on this single. So much effort and payola for a song the public clearly dislikes. Sam Smith seems to have revived himself the last 18 months as he was verging dangerously on radio 2 only fodder.
July 19, 20197 yr Sam Smith seems to have revived himself the last 18 months as he was verging dangerously on radio 2 only fodder. Isn't that what he's always been, a couple of collabs aside. But yes, I glad he's finally making music for us rather than our aunts.
July 19, 20197 yr I can hardly believe how much he's improved from 'Promises' onwards, as someone who really fiercely disliked him and pretty much everything he'd done prior to that point I must say everything since has been top notch!
July 19, 20197 yr Also, I find it really strange how they’ve playlisted Antisocial out of all the Ed tracks. I’d have thought they would have playlisted Take Me Back To London considering that’s the one that’s going to be charting today. 'Antisocial' is the actual single - I hope it can overtake the other album tracks and get its own time in the chart, I really like 'Take Me Back To London' too but 'Antisocial' is easily one of the 2 best songs on the Ed project for me (along with 'Cross Me'). Very average week for new additions otherwise (from what I've heard), I generally really like Octavian but not a fan of this song from him. The Gerry Read and High Contrast songs are decent though. Aside: Fredo's name is misspelt in the OP :P
July 19, 20197 yr Author Aside: Fredo's name is misspelt in the OP :P And now corrected. Well spotted B-)
