According to Record Collector magazine, 8 artists are yet to agree to appear on Now 9 and negotiatons could take months. More talks aren't expected now until June so a July release looks unlikely. Can't get the article to copy and paste or link to it.

Also they haven’t removed Cliff from any of the numbered rereleases like they did with Gary Glitter.

An interesting comment from the Super Deluxe Edition forum that essentially confirms what we already knew about Queen and compilations. This was in reference to the 12" 80s album:

Of course Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga” is track 1 on CD1! I’ve been clearing rights for EMI compilations some 20 years ago and this was always the rule – Queen will approve ANYTHING if only they are the first track on the compilation. Nothing has changed.

This must have been going back a long time, as they had some very dubious Disc 1, Track 1s on some of the mid-90s main series Now albums.

A lot of the time they'd have just cause to kick off a compilation anyway due to their legacy, but sometimes it does look a little odd.

Coming 28th May:- NOW Live Forever: The Anthems

https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOW-Live-Forever-V...slYG2ALo8shhCq4

Featuring giants from the era when Indie Pop, Indie Dance and the newly christened Britpop became massive, including Oasis, Manic Street Preachers, Pulp, Radiohead and Suede, 'NOW Live Forever: The Anthems' is packed with 82 universally loved tracks ready for you to re-live! Perfect for Father's Day or to treat yourself to, this anthemic 4CD compilation also includes huge hits from across the pond such as, R.E.M.'s 'What's the Frequency, Kenneth?' and Iggy Pop's 'Lust For Life'. Timeless classics from legendary artists including The Clash, U2, The Cure, New Order and Paul Weller sit alongside club-inspired and early electronic dance hits from The Prodigy, Underworld, Saint Etienne, The Chemical Brothers, Faithless and Everything But The Girl. 'Now Live Forever: The Anthems' is an amazing collection from the time where music and culture collided. Enjoy singing along to every word.
They had the back cover of this on amazon but they've all of a sudden took it down

It's not a bad selection. It reminds me of the early 30s NOWs which was thriving with Brit-Pop and Alternative hits.

Love that cover as well.

BUMP.

Really enjoying Now 12" 80's. Great collection. The longest track, at over 14 min, is Yellow's The Race.

I've been enjoying NOW 108 a lot so far, and it's probably one of the most recent NOWs I like to replay quite a bit. It's just a nice mix of Fresh Hits and Established Artists!

Just wanted to make an early prediction for the next volume;

Now 109 Prediction

1. Lil Nas X – MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)

2. Tion Wayne & Russ Millions – Body
