Toosie Slide won't appear as it's been mentioned before there's licensing issues with Drake.

No Rain On Me is a shame, couldn't care less about Rockstar though :kink:

Wow. Now that's what I call TikTok. But I guess that's what will sell the album.

Love that HAIM and Jessie Ware made the album though. Talent always wins

I think it is. 41 tracks. Gaps which could’ve been filled

Perhaps you should quit buying them then, it’d save us some grief.

It’s not the best track list but then I’m not one to judge as I know barely anything on it. I’m a little disappointed there’s no Jack Garratt as I thought he really could make it with not much being out.

I don’t mind 41 tracks at all. Seeing 25 tracks to a disc always makes me feel weirdly nauseous.

It was a quarter to 2 in the morning from where I come from when the track list was revealed, and it's now past 3am here as I submit this. Here is my first outlook on NOW 106:

So, they added one more track in there. I honestly thought that with the initial announcement of only 40 songs, they would bring back the bonus throwback songs (in this case, the ones from NOW 6).

NOW 106 is going to be the first NOW album to contain only 41 songs in total since NOW 49 (2001), which was also a July release - a full 19 years!

Only three songs I heard from among 'em: "Break My Heart" (which is one of my faves right now), "death bed", and "If the World Was Ending". I know of the Gerry and the Pacemakers version of "You'll Never Walk Alone", but I am yet to hear the NHS charity single version that's featured here.

Also, only two number-one songs (so far, at least): "Savage Love" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" (did y'all notice it was from end to end, too?).

I think the 21-20 layout presented by lewistgreen will be most likely here - it's going to be first time that a disc has 21 current chart hits since CD 1 of NOW 96 (2017) - not counting the second discs of both NOW 100 (2018) and NOW 102 (2019) that contained throwbacks - and the first time that a disc has only 20 songs since CD 2 of NOW 69 (2008 - 12 years on!). (Erratum: In my first publication of this post, I erroneously said that CD 1 of NOW 58 from 2004 was the last instance of this.)

I put all songs on a Spotify playlist. If the 21-20 layout will be followed, and the full album versions of "If You're Too Shy" and "Save a Kiss" will be included, then both CDs will just be over an hour in total each (to be precise: 1:05:04 for CD 1, and 1:06:23 for CD 2), the first time the CDs are under 70 minutes in length since NOW 69 (its aforementioned CD 2 has... well, 1:09:32 in total. Coincidence?). It's kind of a shock change for most, if not all of us NOW fans, as we usually see the albums packed with tracks, and if it's not the case, the songs are long enough for the CD to be filled to capacity.

P.S. Allow me to correct myself in one of my earlier posts. Before "Thank You Baked Potato" from NOW 105, the previous record-holder for the shortest song on a NOW album isn't Lil Nas X's "Panini" from NOW 104. It was actually Himesh Patel's cover of "Yesterday" by The Beatles from NOW 103, and from the 2019 Beatles-inspired movie of the same name, after the compilers made the bright idea of putting the 90-second version of the song (1:33 to be precise) instead of the full 2-minute one (aka the "One Man Only" album version); well, to be fair, the shorter version was the one that fit the maximum CD capacity.

They say artists like Drake, Adele and Rihanna etc. don’t appear on a NOW because they don’t like being on there but then you have artists like Nathan Dawe as I seen on his Facebook that are happy that they’re gonna appear on a NOW

Edited by Hadji

Are you still complaining? Oh of course you are. :rolleyes:

If I had a hit and it weren’t on there, of course I’d be complaining

What’s wrong with Nathan Dawe celebrating appearing on the album? He’s had a hit single and it’s the first time he’s been on the compilation :lol:

I really don’t get what comparison you’re making there with the bigger artists? Their labels do not licence the tracks, simple x

The point I’m making is that you get some artists who are happy with being on a NOW album then you’ve got some artists who are against being on a NOW and if I was in the same position as Nathan, I’d be happy with being on a NOW and I would celebrate

Good for you? For some artists getting the added promotion of being featured on a compilation is a blessing as it has the potential to boost their fan base, for UK only acts this is even more exciting for them as Now is (or was) a major force in terms of compilation albums. UK acts will be happier as it extends their reach whereas acts from outside the UK don’t really give a damn. Travis Scott is included but I doubt he is even aware because it’s not important :lol: It gets to a certain point where including your singles on a compilation doesn’t actually benefit you and the pure purpose of being included is to sell the album and make money for a company you are not affiliated with. Ari & Bieber / their label could have given Now the use of Stuck With U but it makes a lot of sense why: 1) Neither artist needs more outreach as they are both household names at this point; and 2) All it does by giving the song to Now is reduce the amount of money made from the song

It’s also very very likely that a lot of artists don’t even know they are on these albums because they have no say. The rights to a lot of artists releases ultimately belong to their labels or managers

There’s hopefully a chance that ROM will be on 107. Shallow which appeared on 102 should’ve been on 101
I feel like a lot of the bigger songs are going to be saved for 107, probably because they make the most money. This gives me NOW 100 (Disc 1) vibes of licensing and song choices
I noticed on 101 that most of the songs were released before 100 and would’ve been on 100 had that been 2 discs of current hits

Well, this is gonna be a big blow to the UK NOW team:

"Rain on Me" is included in the latest edition of the Australian compilation series, So Fresh (Winter 2020 edition). Hopefully it will still be up for NOW 107 later this year.

Also surprised that DaBaby's number one song "Rockstar" is omitted in NOW 106, given that he has appeared in the US NOW albums - NOW 72 with "Suge" and a double appearance on NOW 74 with his solo track "Bop" and his collaboration with Camila Cabello, "My Oh My" (the latter, of course, is also quite a miss for NOW 106).

Fingers crossed now for what's in store in the stateside NOW 75...

Some amazing inclusions on here - including Learn to Fly by Surfaces, Sia, and Ellie Goulding.

Pesumably Rockstar was a global licensing issue but it makes no sense why Rain On Me would be licensed in Australia and Germany but not the UK, especially as it was a No.1 here. They must have tried to get it, so it's odd.

From that Bravo 110 track list that Spiral posted, I would have expected to see the following on Now 106;

Disk 1 von 2

3 Ava Max - Kings & Queens

4 Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me

13 Becky Hill & Sigala - Heaven On My Mind

17 Jonas Brothers feat. Karol G. - X

I guess I can understand with Jonas Brothers as it did poorly, but they usually get added. As for Ava, it was disappointing that her last hit So Am I was also omitted from the series, so perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised about that one. Becky Hill’s latest single is quite new but that should be a reason to exclude it, so that was a bit baffling. And as for Rain On Me, considering Stupid Love made it on the last volume just two months ago, you would definitely have expected this major hit to be included.

Some early choices for a November 2020 release of Now volume 107, I would suggest the following tracks may have an outside chance of featuring (depending on how long that they can remain in the charts and peak higher);

DaBaby feat. Roddy Ricch – ROCKSTAR {1}

Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande – Rain On Me {1}

Ava Max – Kings & Queens {19}

Marshmello & Halsey – Be Kind {33}

Becky Hill & Sigala – Heaven On My Mind {38}

Ella Henderson – Take Care Of Me {55}

CamelPhat feat. Yannis from Foals – Hypercolour {77}

Disclosure – ENERGY {TBA}

Franky Wah – Come Together {TBA}

AJ Tracey & Mabel – West Ten {TBA}

Anne-Marie feat. Doja Cat – To Be Young {TBA}

Dua Lipa – Hallucinate {TBA}
