But they didn’t have to ignore Joel Corry. H&H was released closer to 106 than Bed was to 108. Central Cee has two hits and never got included and Bieber has lots of solo hits which never got included. Lack of urban on there too hence why CJ is missing

As we've learnt many a time with the NOW series, they're not being ignored they will probably be on the next one

Joel Corry should definitely be on 109

I have concluded that Justin has chosen not to licence his solo material to the compilation series anymore as they wouldn’t ignore his recent hits if they were allowed to include them. I guess we will just have to rely on features from now on. Also, those of you who claimed Ed would licence his recent hit just because it wasn’t a #1 have also been shown that this isn’t always the case.
NOW 108 is now available to pre-order on iTunes but for some reason, NOW 8, like NOW 7 isn’t
I’ve only just noticed Rag N Bone Man isn’t on there, I’m guessing it may make the next one with his album being released next month.
I do feel that a lot of the songs for NOW 108 were picked out of the hat such as Passenger, The Killers, JLo and Gaga

Passenger and The Killers had big albums at least so warrant their inclusion that way, while 911 has become iconic due to the 'Chromatica II into 911' memes - if only they'd sewn the two tracks together for the single edit!

J.Lo's inclusion I don't really understand, but it's a nice part of that 'veteran pop stars' section on Disc 2.

What I don't really get is how Bravo in Germany managed to get both Afterglow and Justin's Lonely on their latest release, it must be a UK only licensing thing with these artists.

Interestingly, another German compilation called The Dome has Sza's Good Days, so again I'm not sure why that wasn't available to NOW.

The Killers album was released back in May which means MOSW should’ve been included on 106 as part of the songs which were from hit albums

Actually the album came out in August and that’s when MOSW charted top 100. So it is late but who cares? It’s a great track.

They sometimes intend on including songs before the album gets released. NOW 107 would’ve been a better placing for the song

I got my copy of Now 108 early today and they’ve stopped doing the artist biographies and images in the booklet. The write-ups have been getting shorter and less inspired over the years but it’s still quite a loss of one of the brand’s USPs :(

On the plus side, the track credits have returned.

How did you get it early? Amazon?

I guess it’s become too expensive to do the bios? None of them sold well last year but I’m pretty disappointed by this.

It was on display in Asda late yesterday evening! I recall getting Now 42 a day early from Little Chef too back in 1999. And petrol stations that quite often have them on a display at the till put them out as soon as they come in too.

Although funnily enough they’ll still be registering a sale from me for this week as I’d forgotten that I’d pre-ordered it ages ago on Amazon and now it’s too late to cancel that order. I could send it back, but I won’t as I have a few birthdays coming up and I can give it to someone.

On that note, anyone who did order on Amazon, I got an email to say Autorip is available. I don’t think they’ve done that for quite a while? Although I could be wrong.

Yeah it’s a real shame. Was looking forward to see what they had to say about Steps and J.Lo, but seeing as the commentary used to normally be about a song’s peak chart position I guess they felt they have too many non-hits to comment on now.

I did wonder if they just can’t be bothered to maintain those long web pages with the artist credits on anymore, as the credits have also returned to the spin-offs.

Weird how many changes the series has been trying to make since Now 100, it does feel a bit ‘throw everything to the wall and see what sticks’ type approach, with the throwbacks, the artist names on the artwork, the loss of the bios, and just not really being clear what audience to target - sometimes it feels very Radio 2, other times it’s full of chart trap and grime etc. I think they must be in survival mode with the main numbered series. I guess it doesn’t help that there aren’t enough chart hits to fill two discs anymore, and licensing some artists has become harder, so they had to do something.

I recall NOW 87 in 2014 being available 3 days early from my local service station
