It looks like we could be seeing the return of Mutya Keisha Siobhan - aka the original lineup of Sugababes - in the next few months and certainly within the next year. Following the sharing of their new selfie together on Instagram last week, the girls have confirmed they have recorded a version of Sweet Female Attitude's #2 hit from 2000, 'Flowers' to appear on DJ Spoony's 'Garage Classical' album coming out in September: https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/22/sugababes-co...eback-10440272/

Furthermore, Mutya has revealed in an interview with The Sun that they are apparently planning a new album for 2020 and tour to commemorate next year being the 20th anniversary since they released the first Sugababes album 'One Touch', although it's still a bit hush hush from the sounds of things: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/95526...ding-new-music/

Hopefully this means they're a bit closer to securing the Sugababes name back from Crown now! I'm looking forward to hearing their version of 'Flowers', I only just recently got hooked up to the 'Sacred Three' album that went unreleased back in 2013 and it's amazing.

Finally.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come rather than another false start. Considering this garage compilation is out September 6th, we should know "soon" if they're still called MKS or Sugababes.

Love the sugarbabes and far more credible and better than the spice girls any day!

Why do you feel the need to compare to the Spice Girls. Credible why? They kinda lost their credibility with 4 line up changes... Better is a matter of opinion.

I'm here for the second line up only tbh,

I am extremely hyped for this, of course I am. Working out if I can afford the garage concert or not because I need to see my queens on stage again.

The 30+ leaks are mostly amazing (Only You is my song of the year so far) but I’m really looking forward to hearing something that’s mastered and release ready. Can’t wait to have something officially released again

There had been rumours a while back that they could do something for the 20th and Siobhan has been quoted as sad not being able to swing something for the 10th anniversary of ghosts. A 2020 version of One Touch would be epic. Getting an updated version of Run For Cover And Overload  and yeah a tour is very much “TAKE ALL MY MONEY” territory. Scala was one of the best moments of my entire life

There’s no R in Sugababes. It’s been 19 years and people still can’t spell their name :drama:

I've been on such a Sugababes binge the past few weeks so this is very welcome news! I never fully appreciated 'One Touch' when I first listened to it about 15 years ago but I think it's aged well. 'Promises' was such a missed single opportunity.

Oh fgs their not still going for the Sugababes trademark. They could be 3/4 albums into a nice indie-pop career by now had they not been so bothered by that bloody trademark
One Touch is great and agree Promises should have been a single, much better than Soul Sound which was the 4th single I believe

Me too! I've been on a massive Sugababes binge for the last week since this news was announced :D

I have to say it's a toss up between this album and 'Three' for me as their overall best work, 'Three' has a lot of my favourite singles of theirs on it - 'Too Lost In You', 'Caught In A Moment' and 'In The Middle', but also great songs that didn't become singles like 'Situation's Heavy' and 'Nasty Ghetto'. But 'One Touch' I love because it was so organic in a way and it had the makings of the brilliance to come. It was a very different sound for a pop group - let alone a girl group - at the time and they were certainly breaking down the barn door for what followed.

I think 'Soul Sound' was the right choice for fourth single - it sounded perfect blasting it during the heatwave again this week - but TBH anything they would've released at that point would have done the same as that did chart wise. They were a critical hit at this point but they crucially needed something to cross them over to the mainstream in the way 'Overload' had. They needed that little time out between being dropped by London and 'Freak Like Me' to really become the band they became.

Ahh finally! I can’t believe they’re all still so young. I can’t wait for the tour :D

Welcome to the One Touch appreciation station y’all!!! It’s so nice to have you here. Run For Cover is a masterpiece and you’re both right, the album has held up excellently.

I actually reckon a lot of their work (1.0 & 2.0) has aged fairly well, especially the albums. In comparison to what was coming out around the same time as them you could imagine quite easily quite a lot of what they recorded being released now without much remastering or tweaking at all.

I’m really hoping that the One Touch anniversary stuff comes off because it would be so special to hear some updated versions of tracks off that album or even some of their big hits. Siobhan really really really suits Stronger and Freak

My Suga binge has also extended to YouTube in the past week. This Popworld interview with 2.0 around the time of 'Push the Button' is hilarious

'How many children would you like to breed with your lover, Cockney TV presenter Dave Berry'  If it's possible to include a Popworld reunion special with Simon and Miquita in a legally binding contract for this reunion it'd be brilliant (Busted didn't do one for their new album despite my pleas but they so should have).

for me the 2 first albums were their best, might even prefer One Touch

Overload, Run For Cover, New Year and Promises are all 11/10 songs from One Touch

yesterday I ended up listening to their 1st album and really enjoyed it, doesn't really seem like the album is nearly 20 years old

has passed the test of time and sounds current even if it's from 2000

the track order is kinda bizarre cos some of the best tracks are at the very end of the album (New year, Promises, Run for cover)

I heard my former chart-topper Freak Like Me in a club saturday night, I literally hadnt heard it in a decade and had forgotten the words and had to mumble along to it, how embarrassing! The early noughties retro-comeback is starting up and shifting into gear over the next few years. It's still a great record.

funnily I haven't heard some of the early songs for ages

but yesterday I played Run for Cover and still could remember all the words by heart
