Pretty self-explanatory as the title suggests, but do you remember how you discovered Shawn, and what made you become a fan of him/his music? Have you been around since the very beginning in the Vine days, did you stumble upon him like most of the GP when Stitches became the hit that it was, or have you only recently jumped aboard?

I saw Life of the Party at #1 on US iTunes and was pretty shocked, I'd never heard of Shawn! I checked it out and quite liked it. He obviously got my attention again with Oh Cecilia and then Something Big, and I've been a fan ever since!

I came across him around about the time he released the EP, and instantly fell in love with his voice. :wub: All of the songs were so addictive, and then Handwritten came along and it really cemented his place in my affections, so to have loved him and watched him grow from the beginning (not including Vine), to where he is now has been amazing.

I saw Something Big played on an upcoming hits show on a music channel, although I can’t remember whether this was before or after Oh Cecilia and whether I recognised his name at this point

I first heard of him when he featured on Oh Cecilia, but to me he was just some random young singer and I didn't care to check out anything else by him! :lol:

 

I began paying a bit more attention after hearing Stitches for the first time in December 2015, which I really loved, but I was more into the song than particularly caring about him. I didn't bother checking out Handwritten at that point. Then I wasn't keen on I Know What You Did Last Summer.

 

I'd say the moment I really started becoming more of a fan of his was with the release of Treat You Better. So by this stage I liked two of his songs and I felt more compelled to check out the Illuminate album - which I really liked! I finally listened to Handwritten, but I wasn't grabbed by much of it - I should really give it another go someday.

 

There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back is when I truly laminated my stan card (lol~).

 

'Shawn Mendes' the album - love love love! To the extent I decided I wanted to see him on tour.

At which point was it, that you realised you were a fan/stan?

 

For me, I'd heard it and thought it was meh and just had a general ignorance to it, probs coz Joseph stanned him. 🙃

 

But I Know What You Did Last Summer was a bop. But then Treat You Better happened and I loved it. I thought "OK keep this up, I'm a fan". Then we had Mercy and I loved that too!

 

I consider myself a stan now, due to In My Blood. That song changed it all for me.

Regarding his attractiveness, his Flaunt shoot from 2016 is when I first took notice of him in that way. Although he’s ridiculously much hotter these days. A man!
