22nd. Joanne = 18 votes



Welcome to Round 4 of Least Fave Lady Gaga single, and seeing as there was an double elimination, losing both 'Joanne' & 'G.U.Y.', leaving us with 20 songs left in the running. However for now let's talk about 'Joanne', the title track for her fifth studio album and released as the 3rd and final single from that album, over a year after the last single was released. Which was strange considering that most people thought the era was already over and plus she had already shot a video for 'John Wayne' (a far better choice), that could have been released instead. Re-recorded for its release with a simple piano version that gives it an even more sparser and haunting sound that lets the lyrics speak for itself, its a beautiful song and the sentiment is nice, but can see why this doesn't connect with voters on here, with a whooping 18 votes, this had more than double the votes of almost every song on here, and plus it had high votes in the previous rounds, so this wasn't ever gonna last very long anyway.

21st. G.U.Y. = 11 votes



Finishing just outside the top 20 is 'G.U.Y.', another song that wasn't or never seems to last very long in these polls (normally exiting round about the 3rd or 4th rounds), and this is no exception. Released in March 2014 as the 3rd and final single from her 3rd studio album 'Artpop', this brought the era which was already surrounded by so much controversy to a screaming halt, and to be fair by the time this came it didn't stand a chance and while the song is a fun example of Gaga playing with ideas of sex and gender, but once again like its music video, its way too overblown to be a commercial success, and at the time people were already sick of this side of her and by the next era, it was time for a drastic change of direction.


In the last round almost every song got votes, with both 'The Cure' & 'Applause' both receiving 8 votes and almost getting the chop, 'LoveGame' & 'Judas' both got 5, while 'You And I' got 3 & Perfect Illusion' got 2, then finally 'Paparazzi', 'Bad Romance', 'Born This Way', 'The Edge Of Glory', 'Marry The Night', 'Do What U Want', 'Million Reasons', 'Shallow' & 'I'll Never Love Again', each got 1 vote each.

So its back to single voting for now, same rules apply just vote for your least favourite Gaga song from the 20 remaining, and the 1 with the most will be gone by the next round.

@SamJudd, the John Wayne video was obviously released, not just shot. It's a fine line if it was "less of a single" than Joanne when both had next to none proper promotion etc. at the time. Joanne of course went on to win a Grammy but it's has nothing to do with the single status.

 

Also, appalled by the hate towards G.U.Y here :( Anyone who went to artRAVE knows it's a total MOMENT and should be treated with respect.

 

It's not a coincidence that all ARTPOP tracks have better Spotify numbers than most of the Born This Way album tracks :P #justiceforARTPOP
