OI stop calling me old. :nono:

So there you have an Irish diplomat saying Leo should stop thwarting Brexit and accept the deal now. He knows more than any of us here.

Sorry for being blunt but what the f*** are you on about? I’m far from a Varadkar fan but he’s 100% correct when he says the border on the island of Ireland is a British border, not an Irish one. The border makes no f***ing sense which is half the reason why it’s so controversial. The border being the Brexit backache is DELICIOUS because it’s England’s colonialist history coming back to bite them on the arse. I’m not a nationalist by any means (I would never vote Sinn Fein; they’re abhorrent) but Northern Ireland deserve a voice and a future. The UK (mostly England tbf) has shown no interest in the North since partition. Let the people of NI decide their future. The Irish Government are no fools. They know how to deal with the likes of Boris; they’ve had to put up with it for decades.

And just FYI it takes more than one veto from the likes of Hungary to veto an entire agreement. Ireland punches way above its weight in the EU so the rest of the bloc will side with us before they side with the likes of bloody Hungary.

From BBC News:

The EU will decide at the end of next week whether a Brexit deal is going to be possible, French President Emmanuel Macron has told Boris Johnson.

He said talks should proceed swiftly in coming days to see if anything can be agreed that "respects" EU principles.

It comes after the UK prime minister set out his Brexit proposals last week.

He says the UK will leave on 31 October with or without a deal, despite a law forcing him to request an extension if no deal is agreed by the 19th.

The prime minister discussed his proposals with Mr Macron by phone ahead of a crunch few days of negotiations.

Also, reports tonight that Boris will challenge the Benn Act in the Supreme Court and appear himself to argue that the UK should be able to leave with no deal as MP's won't agree a deal.

What if he offers them a large gift of money out of the goodness of his heart? ;)

Ah! I think we're approaching Magic Money Tree land now - the place and tree that only the Tories have the benefit of picking the fruit from!

DELETED. Misunderstood Cal's post.

This could be good news. If Johnson appears before the Supreme Court then, given his record, he is almost certain to lie. This would be perjury. He could be in jail very soon.

How is the above lying - it is a fact that MP's won't agree a deal.

He lies so much he probably has an inability to tell the difference between truth and lies. It's almost a given he would lie to the sc too.

Sorry my telepathy is obviously not working  so I had to rely on what you actually quoted...

ITV News has figures showing tonnes of food is being wasted, as a shortage of farm workers means some UK crops are not being harvested.

Seasonal migrants from the EU are staying away, fearing a no deal Brexit.

The industry blames the government’s failure to allow more agricultural workers from outside the EU.

We filmed at a fruit farm in Ledbury, Herefordshire, where 87,000 punnets of raspberries were wasted in just a fortnight. It's because they are short of 100 pickers - the majority of seasonal agricultural workers come from Eastern Europe.

Fears about Brexit are one of the major reasons so many are now staying away, but a fall in the value of the pound and improving job conditions in their own countries are compounding this growing problem.

Figures we’ve obtained from National Farmers' Union of England and Wales (NFU) show:

Between January and August, 3,602 farm vacancies went unfilled - 10% of the seasonal workforce.

In August, that shortfall reached 17.6%.

One farming employment agency told us it is down 27% - and predicts down by 60% or even 70% by October

So awful that all those lovely raspberries have gone to waste. Wife loves raspberries and a small punnet is expensive. Why didn't the farm owners ask people just to go and pick them and take them home or pay a nominal sum, say a couple of quid entry like they do for strawberries? Better than wasting nice fresh fruit. :( That's really upset me. :(

Just thought. Why didn't they mobilise the unemployed and get them bussed to the farms? Few free raspberries too.

Hope there's enough people to pick the sprouts for Christmas dinner or there'll be a shortage. :D

As much as I try not to indulge your trolling, perhaps you should be picking the raspberries since you got your way and the immigrants you hate are staying away. You may actually be useful for once.

I would have gone and picked some myself if they'd allowed it. Fresh fruit's good for you.

Oh and this wasn't trolling. It's an interesting news story connected to Brexit that people may not know about.

There is a bigger troll here than me at present.
