Huge new ComRes survey of 26,000 Britons concludes folks still want Brexit delivered:

- 54% support abiding by the referendum result and leaving the EU

- Preferred outcome is 50% Leave (broken down: 30% with a deal, 20% no deal) vs 42% remain.

How was the question worded? What timeframe was used? What type of deal? Because I have different answers that depend on those questions.

I support abiding by the referendum and leaving the EU, providing it is like the leaving which was sold by those that campaigned for Brexit. It is, afterall, what people voted for. However if the options were Boris' deal, no deal and remain then I would 100% pick remain.

Do you realise how daft you look, when you dismiss *anything* you disagree with as 'fake news' or conspiracy'.

I know a certain high-profile figure who does that, now you mention it.

But it is.

Wildly different question and wildly different result to every poll in the last two years lol. And it also disagrees with the demographic facts. Sorry.

So er...ahem....how come you don't call people out on the other end of the political spectrum for doing the exact same thing?

Conspiracy isn't aliens at Roswell, etc. It is the rich and powerful pulling strings and manipulating. It is obvious that poll is just more Cummings spin. Ask a strange question, get an answer that goes against all data, and hammer it home on the BBTory, the tight wing press etc, at the exact same time that Bojo the Clown capitulates and brings forwarda the worst deal imaginable. Why aren't you clever enough to see this? It's very simple.
Well Scotland can apply to join the EU as an individual country if it becomes separated from us.

And that we will.

The VAT system sounds a bit silly to me. So Northern Ireland would have one system for trading with the South and the EU and another for trading with us.

It’s not silly, it’s a major contributor to the overall budget the government has to play with.

The answer is quite simple, for the length of time we leave NI attached to EU markets (before its border poll and reunification with Ireland) the UK will remain in full alignment with the EU VAT Directives.

It’s an easy answer following common sense but that means Boris won’t do that at all

I didn't mean VAT is silly but having two systems, one for trade with the EU and one for trade with N.Ireland is a bit daft.

No comments on how weak and wobbly Bojo is? How his deal is even worse than Mad May's?

Not right now as I have to go shopping to buy food.

Food that will be much more expensive/ rarer under a Bojo Tory brexshit

Well am stocking up. Will buy 100 tins of Pek. :D

No one else wants to do that. you can do that and live some mythical bulldog spirit as the rest of us remain in the eu and carry on as normal.

ITV News reporter saying his hunch is that there won't be a deal in time for the summit tomorrow. "When one problem gets solved another arises" :( If no deal then talks will have to go on after the summit next week as they can't spend the whole of the EU summit just discussing this.

Boris WILL send the extension letter.

So looking like an extension but hopefully we'll be out at the end of it, maybe end of January.

 Not happening. The second Bojo fails to get Brexshit before Oct 31, the wolves are out. He's finished.
According to Ch4 news the EU want Boris to prove to them that he has the numbers to get a deal through the Commons on Saturday.I don't see how he can prove that as MP's may be undecided until they know more detail and even then change their minds. So a big problem for Boris.

It appears that Jo Maugham QC is now crowdfunding to block the forthcoming (but as-yet not agreed) WA coming to Parliament, by citing a law put in place by the ERG...

@1184530270478913538

Law as follows:

Taxation (Cross-border Trade) Act 2018

55: Single United Kingdom customs territory

(1)It shall be unlawful for Her Majesty’s Government to enter into arrangements under which Northern Ireland forms part of a separate customs territory to Great Britain.

(2)For the purposes of this section “customs territory” shall have the same meaning as in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1947 as amended.

Strange times!

Anyone watching the Ch.5 Brexit debate? Michael Howard said "There was only one referendum that mattered. That was in 2016. The public were asked a straight question, leave or remain. Leave won and that result must be respected and implemented and we must leave"

Ann Widdecombe's on there too.
