September 2, 20195 yr Hi did ANYONE vote my entry ? :( I knew Big Racks was a risky entry, especially as it's so R&B leaning.
September 2, 20195 yr well that last reveal was a jawdropper! Totally expecting Niceland to get through, and not Lene! There was always going to be some "what?!" DNQ's in such a strong semi.....but The Makemakes are currently in the top 60 itunes and it is fab! In the non-BJ world it would seem to be the fave :o I loved not doing the DNQ's, much less stressful, thanks Lewww! Thanks for the congrats dandy, Suedey, Rollo and anyone who voted for Bird Song. I adore it's kooky OTT-ness :) That's a ray of sunshine in my got-a-stinking-cold-up-half-the-night morning

September 2, 20195 yr I thought this Bree Runway song was better than 'What Do I Tell My Friends?', can see why it wouldn't be as big a hit as that was but really not sure why it did THIS badly. D:

September 3, 20195 yr Haha I've got such a rotten cold too! :( It's the BJSC curse Trooper! Kudos for duty above and beyond
September 3, 20195 yr I thought it was almost normal by Lene Lovich standards  As normal as she gets! She once recorded screams for a horror film, and did a single with Nina Hagen. Pretty Off-the-wall, an American in the UK, quirky Americans are often attracted to the UK.... :)
September 3, 20195 yr I loved your entry - thought it was an early 80s new romantic song but actually its from 1979. Thanks Snakey, I tried to convert my uni friends to it at the time but they (and everyone else) didn't get it
September 3, 20195 yr [/late] Qualification streak update (underlined countries have matched or extended their longest ever Q streak): 31 Aeroche 31 Cor Lupus ~ 16 FARC ~ 11 Thelonia * ~ 9 Dobago ~ 8 Oslol ~ 7 Espen 7 Fljótavík 7 Lotunia ~ 5 Greenfroze 5 Unovia * ~ 4 Altyr Muunilinst 4 (The Actual Republic of) Bellamia 4 Hushkanukia 4 Jadakissnia ~ 3 Budtar 3 Flynnonda 3 FSR Rontvia 3 Hendinia 3 Vülkyria ~ 2 Arcodesia 2 Brechtoria 2 New Lexico 2 Persephonia 2 Utopia * ~ 1 Aelandor 1 Aesthetica 1 Bøtanikkä 1 Buzzjack Mountain 1 East Rukahavian 1 Holland-Oats 1 Kluminican Republic * 1 Land of DW 1 Rolloland 1 Séyetana 1 Singerpurear 1 Summericia 1 Tartford DEAD 17 St. Burbia :snif: 9 Quintessa 7 Skall 5 Terra Avium 4 Cadelicia 4 Kylienips 4 Taahino 2 Scherzland 1 Daehun 1 Niceland 1 République d'Áskorza 1 Suedeonia 1 United States of Jack * more consecutive entries (15 for Unovia, 12 for Thelonia, 6 for Kluminican Republic, 3 for Utopia) have qualified but these streaks were broken by breaks from the contest A few of the longer qualification streaks fall this time, most notably St. Burbia who miss out after 17 straight finals, but also Quintessa and Skall who have their first DNQs of the year. Aeroche (with yet another AQ) and Cor Lupus remain unphased and stay at joint #1 now going into their 31st consecutive finals, with their closest rival now being FARC on 16 in a row. Those three all further expand their existing records as do Thelonia to 11 (12 ignoring the one contest gap), Dobago to 9, Oslol to 8 and Lotunia to 7. Flynnonda set a new record as they make it to 3 finals in a row for the first time after stalling at 2 twice before. Arcodesia and Brechtoria both match their records as they reach a second final in a row each (the latter by default with their AQ), Arcodesia previously doubled up in BJSCs 109 & 110 (their only previous qualifiers) and Brechtoria did so in BJSCs 87 & 88. Unovia's broken run of 15 entries in a row qualifying surpasses their consecutive contests record of 14, and matches their previous record while ignoring breaks from the contest (in BJSCs 81 & 83-96).
September 3, 20195 yr Yaaaaas, thank you for voting. I did not think I'd get though this round. Lemme go find something worthy of 9.
September 3, 20195 yr Actually surprised I've made the final 3 times in a row! Did not expect to be doing this well, to be honest. Edited September 3, 20195 yr by Jack500
