September 27, 20195 yr Author I've been spamming 'Abbey Road' a lot for the anniversary and it feels utterly wrong that 'Because' isn't in my top 50 either. So I think imma have to kick another one out. That 'Moonlight Sonata'-esque production is sounding better than ever  I've been a superfan since I was about 15 and my favourites are still changing. So, 'Abbey Road' top 5: 01. Here Comes The Sun 02. Something 03. Come Together 04. I Want You (She's So Heavy) 05. Because All incredible and this is only my 4th favourite Beatles album *_* George really killed this one. Btw round 1 of the survivor is now open: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=226674
September 27, 20195 yr 1. Something 2. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds 3. Maxwell's Silver Hammer 4. Revolution 9 (genuinely) 5. Eleanor Rigby 6. I Am The Walrus 7. Norwegian Wood erm f this exposes me as some pleb doesn't it.
September 27, 20195 yr I love Here, There And Everywhere too. Emmylou Harris did a great version which was a minor hit in 1976 too. I'd never heard Emmylou's version of it until now, but yes, it is absolutely lovely.

Norwegian Wood erm f this exposes me as some pleb doesn't it. I'm actually more surprised that someone would name "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" as one of their favourite Beatles songs. I mean, I do like it as a song, but it's not one that I thought someone would call their favourite. John Lennon hated that song, denouncing it as Paul McCartney's love of "granny music".
September 27, 20195 yr Author I didn’t know that it was possible to feel claustrophobic when listening to music... until I heard ‘Revolution 9’.
September 27, 20195 yr Whenever I've felt the need to go into a Beatles album it's often been that I'm drawn to their weirder ones, I guess. also Maxwell's has a great rhythm and those lyrics are... fun.
October 2, 20195 yr I'd never heard Emmylou's version of it until now, but yes, it is absolutely lovely. Certainly is and should have been a much bigger hit. Think it reached No.22.
October 2, 20195 yr I didn’t know that it was possible to feel claustrophobic when listening to music... until I heard ‘Revolution 9’. Can't stand it yet I know someone who absolutely loves it.
October 7, 20195 yr Author This is a bit off-topic Beatles AF when but it made me so happy to see 'Abbey Road' reclaiming the #1 spot all these years later for the 50th anniversary, plus being #2 in the midweeks for week 2 so far as well. Amazing! Their impact will forever be huge.

Amazing! Their impact will forever be huge. Agreed Jade. It's fantastic. I bought just remaster, just the single CD and sounds better than ever. Great album.
February 23, 20214 yr Author They're being used as one of the acts for the AF Idol spin-off, 'Eleanor Rigby' fans unite: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=243620 (Donna Summer too in terms of pre-2000s acts)
February 23, 20214 yr My top 3 are: 1. Let It Be 2. Hey Jude 3. Here Comes the Sun So many good ones though - I am going to be working through their albums in time too now I have them all on my iTunes!
March 14, 20214 yr I used to think The Beatles were overrated until I saw what the charts were like before they came along. Also when I was younger I tended to hate anything that was popular. The best Beatles song for me would be "Tomorrow Never Knows". I think the term "ahead of its time" is overused, but this really was ahead of it's time.
